Though Latino superstar Enrique Inglesias is the son of the celebrated Spanish romantic singer Julio Iglesias, his roots as displayed here are set firmly in '80s pop. From the big-beat chorus of "Escape," through the ersatz-tribal chorus and fuzz guitar of "Don't Turn off the Lights," to the pulsating throb of "Maybe," ESCAPE is an '80s lovefest set to a millennial beat.
When he's not busy paying homage to the decade of big hair, however, Iglesias displays his mastery of the family specialty, the love ballad, in such cuts as "Hero," where the trademark hereditary Iglesias vocal shimmer is very much in evidence, and the Latin-tinged "I Will Survive," which combines the aforementioned balladic style with some quintessential Eurodisco flourishes. With a trio of Spanish-language remixes rounding off the album, ESCAPE consolidates Enrique Iglesias's already considerable reputation as international balladeer and pop performer par excellence.

In my 33 years..."Hero" is one of the best songs I have ever heard! It truly moves feelings that are hidden...and I'm not even a big Enrique Iglesias fan! It's a great CD!

First time I purchased a CD by this artist
I enjoy latino music. Since Ricky Martin has exploded the ethnic origin, others have followed. I appreciate Jennifer Lopez's 6 album as well. This is a good album. But remember they all follow the same type of CD music marketing....songs in engish first and then the last three songs or so in spanish. So you are you getting about five songs in all.
This CD is very good and I would purchase it again. This artist is very talented and has a good CD here. If you have other CD's by him that you like, please e-mail me.

Cheap Trick only improves with age, as evidenced by this 25th anniversary show in front of a hometown crowd of 15,000. Aside from seminal tracks like "Surrender" and "I Want You to Want Me," the band includes songs from every one of its albums for this beautifully packaged double CD.
"That 70's Song," a kind of "Surrender" junior, shows Cheap Trick can still write a killer tune with a great hook. Extra strings enhance the lost classic "Tonight it's You," as does the addition of a choir and orchestra on "Time Will Let You Know." Ex-Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan plugs in his guitar for "Just Got Back," and the album concludes with "Who D' King," a drummer's delight made even more explosive by the appearance of the Phantom Regiment Drum Corps.
