"Listening for Selah - Psalms Without Words Live" features a complete set from the 2008 Scranton Jazz Festival, with full performances of eight tunes. Recorded live in concert on August 3, 2008, the outstanding band includes pianist and composer Bill Carter, Jeff Stockham on trumpet and French horn, Michael Carbone on saxophones, Tony Marino on bass, and Tom Whaley on drums. The concert was presented in a "lessons and carols" format, with Chris Norton of WVIA-FM providing the narration. After each reading of a biblical psalm, the band interpreted the ancient text with a creative new jazz composition.
