Scott, never having any professional training or musical education, has been singing for the Lord since her tender youth. At the age of five she sung her first solo, "Amazing Grace". At the age of thirteen, Debbie was the youngest lead singer of the family gospel group, "The Five Stars of Baltimore", on the Savoy Record Label. Debbie has had the privilege along with the other group members to open concerts for the Mighty Clouds of Joy, Caravans, and Five Blind Boys to name a few. In the music arena Debbie is versatile in captivating the elders and youth with down home gospel and uplifting, pressing praise and worship. Debbie is inspired by artists of yesterday and today such as; Mahalia Jackson, Shirley Caesar, Albertina Walker, The Canton Spirituals, Donnie McClurkin, Vickie Winans, Yolanda Adams, and Israel Houghton. Her current project entitled 'Getting Your Life Back' is a must have for any spiritual music collection. The first track 'Let the Earth' opens up the CD vibrantly with a festive melody line to an upbeat drum. As her voice soars across the track the background vocals most assuredly keep up and add special flavor to the song. 'Rain' is a powerful ballad and a soul stirring plea for God's presence. It starts softly with strong piano influence and sugary sweet vocals. By the songs end, all instruments have commanded the listener's attention as the vocals roar with full power and emotion. 'Getting Your Life Back', the title track encourages and strengthens your spirit by reminding you that God is here and it's time to take your life back!
