"Take This Job & Shove It" is the one record that put Johnny Paycheck's name all over the world, and gave him a taste of what life can be, as a celebrity of such magnitude. With 6 Gold albums, 2 Platinum, 1 Double-Platinum, (almost unheard of at the time for a Country Music Artist), and 33 hit singles, Johnny Paycheck is a genuine LEGEND! He has worked with a veritable "who's who" in the genre; such country music greats as Faron Young, Ray Price and Porter Wagoner. He began receiving recognition as a very good songwriter. His early credits include his composition of one of Tammy Wynette's first great hits, "Apartment # 9", and a great hit for Ray Price, "Touch My Heart". Johnny Paycheck was nominated for two Grammy Awards for ("Don't Take Her, She's All I've Got" & "Take This Job & shove It"), and was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award from Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI). Johnny Paycheck recorded this masterpiece in March of 1984. The Sound track was done in one studio, and the vocals were done on world famous Music Row in the studio of Waylon Jennings. The final mix of the album took one month, working twelve hour days under the masterful hand of Producer Miles Sillis. At the time of this Recording Johnny Paycheck was on his way to #1 again. The title of the album, "Survivor", was synonymous with the name of Johnny Paycheck. The Search to find just the right music took three months , engaging the talents of some of the best songwriters, of the time period."Listening to this album now, and when it was recorded, it's an amazing retrospective of the life and times of Johnny Paycheck."This new CD release, "Survivor", will be sought after as a Collector's Item by all of Johnny Paycheck's fans worldwide! Ten (10) songs never before heard, such as: "I'm a Survivor", "You're Every Step I Take" and "I Never Got Over You" ...just to name a few. This Album will be well received by all true Country fans. It's "true roots" Country style will be an appreciated, refreshing switch from what has become mainstream music in the Country genre. A pleasant, timely and contemporary view of real Country Music!

Survivor album
$6.75 Recorded between 1971 & 1986. Includes liner notes by Johnny Whiteside.
Those unacquainted with the world of country music, who think the Johnny Paycheck story begins and ends with the recession-era working-man's anthem "Take this Job and Shove It" are as misguided as the benighted soul who thinks Willie Nelson's career began with "On the Road Again." Though he seldom gets credit from the Wille/Waylon camp, Paycheck was indeed one of the original country outlaws. Sadly, the turn of the century found most of his extensive, gem-laden catalog out of print, but this definitive, 23-song collection goes a long way towards correcting that injustice.

| | Stonewall Jackson Mighty Stonewall Sings Modern Hits & Originals CD (2004)
Survivor CD music
$10.79 Stonewall Jackson signed to Little Darlin' in 1979, several years after leaving Columbia Records, which was the last time he had been a presence on the country charts. His records for Little Darlin' didn't return him to the charts, but it did revitalize him artistically as he moved toward the rough and rowdy sound of late '70s outlaw country upon the urging of his new label. There were still remnants of the poppier side of Jackson -- the side that was clearly heard on his hits for Columbia in the '60s -- whether it was on the swinging "I Can't Sing a Love Song" or on the remakes of his old hits "Waterloo," "B.J. the DJ," "Leona," "Mary Don't You Weep," and "Leona" that he cut immediately after signing to Little Darlin'. Those remakes constituted the 1979 Platinum Country LP, which was followed later that year by Bad Ass, a collection of new songs in the outlaw vein. Bad Ass was almost cartoonishly outlaw -- as evidenced by the titles of "Jesus Took the Outlaw out of Me," "Come on Home and Have Your Next Affair With Me," "Alcohol of Fame," and, best of all, "The Pint of No Return" -- but even if the titles are silly, the music is strong, with sturdy songs and great straight-ahead honky tonk performances by the Little Darlin' house band and an assured ...

| | Willie Nelson Texas In My Soul CD (1968) Reissue
Survivor album
$9.19 It's no secret that Willie Nelson is a proud son of the Lone Star State, and on the album Texas in My Soul he performs 11 songs in praise of the state he calls home. One could imagine Nelson writing a fine set of songs about the legend and lore of Texas, but unfortunately that's not what listeners get here -- while Texas in My Soul was recorded in 1968, when Willie was still writing prolifically, this album is made up entirely of covers, and it was produced by Chet Atkins, who didn't seem to quite understand Nelson's laid-back ...

Survivor songs
$18.99 Carol Elizabeth Jones lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and Laurel Bliss lives in the Pacific Northwest, but music brings them together for festivals and concerts on both coasts. Their close harmonies, song selection, simple acoustic backup, and straight-ahead delivery have won them many fans wherever they've played. Bluegrass Now says of their 2003 CD GIRL FROM JERICHO "Augmented by a crackerjack band, Jones and bliss have taken timeless songs - both classic and newly-composed - and have crafted a remarkable and compelling Bluegrass album." Their new CD RIDIN'ALONG is a collection of classic Country and Bluegrass duets with the sound and feel of the real deal.Carol Elizabeth Jones has made her mark as a singer of traditional mountain music and as a writer of new songs in the old tradition. A recording of the Coon Creek Girls, some good friends, and the Mt. Airy Fiddler's Convention helped get her started in music in her late teens. As a member of the Wildcats and the Wandering Ramblers she helped to bring vocals back into stringband music with good singing, great harmony, and creative song selection. With James Leva she recorded three acclaimed albums of original material. Cuts from the "Heart of a Singer" project with Hazel Dickens and Ginny Hawker were included on Rounder's "O Sister Women in Bluegrass" collection. Dave Higgs of Bluegrass Breakdown says "...Carol Elizabeth ...
