an unexpected dud
after listening to "Tightly Knit" and considering it one of the best albums I had ever heard, I remember being disappointed that this follow-up was not more inspired or lively...inexplicably. sorry guys. most of your work was fine. but this is still a disappointment.brad in Tampa.

Standing the test of time
Somewhere in the dusty back halls of the pantheon of late twentieth century music, "Running Out of Time" sits on a pedestal waiting to be rediscovered and restored to its rightful place in the public ear. I wonder if "Running Out of Time", indeed the complete album, was a parting gift from the Climax Blues Band's muse. Nothing I heard from them before or since resembled this work in which they combined their musicianship and instrumentation to produce inviting grooves and subtle riffs. With saxophones and keyboards integral to the sound, the songs have depth and richness beyond the drum, bass, guitar combination that was the staple when this album was produced. I think it stands the test of time very well.
