 First-rate performance at a budge price
Araon Rosand is deemed by this musiclover (and many classical music critics)a virtuoso of the top caliber such as Itzakh Perlman, Pinchas Zukerman, etc. But unlike the current superstar violinists, he possesses an "individual sound", like the older generations of violinists such as Heifetz, Menuhin, Oistrakh, and Milstein. The only thing that makes sense to me as to why this gifted musician has not been well known as deserved is that he has limited his repertoire to virtuosic works of the Romantic Period. Mr. Rosand is at his forte in this recording. He is well supported by the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra Hanover. The sound quality is of 4 stars. This is a recording for anyone who desires first-rate performance of these works at a budget cost.
