Originally released in 1973, this live recording finds the British boogie-band stadium rockers at their mature best, performing their unique take on blues and jazz classics like "Seventh Son," "Going to New York," and "Let's Work Together." There's an extended instrumental passage on "Flight," and "Mesopopmania" highlights Colin Cooper and Peter Haycock's Allmans-style dueling guitars, while "So Many Roads" features a gorgeous Peter Green-style guitar workout, and "Shake Your Love" is a bone-rattling Bo Diddley-esque jam.
Originally released in 1974 on Polydor, this 12 track live album, recorded in front of a very loud & enthusiastic New York City audience, was a top seller in the U.S. This British blues/rock combo led by Peter Haycock become one of AOR radio's favorite

| FM/Live Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) a rediscovered treasure while brousing the cd universe files i could hardly believe my eyes when they fell upon this once owned treasure of a live album.it was last in my pocession about 1979 and i had forgotten it's existance.from the opener,"all the time in the world" to the closer,"let's work together" the content of songs carries an upbeat momentum that keeps you feeling that you do not want it to end."flight" is a fantastic instrumental jam with a nice hooky funk to it.i so appreciate the guitar work that runs through the whole record."standing by a river" is another nice funky blues number and "so many roads" is blues at blues best and probably my favorite on the disc.you just cannot go wrong with disc.the packaging is an added bonus modeled after an original vinyl record with inner sleeve to boot.great concert, great disc. Smokin' hot album! The Climax Blues Band's FM/LIVE album is perhaps the best LIVE album of all time, in my opinion. In their heyday, the Climax Blues Band was one of the most exciting and energetic acts on tour, always eclipsing whatever other act(s) might be on the bill with them.
It was their LIVE act that was really demonstrative of their virtuosity, and this album captures the ferocity they brought to the stage. Recorded in 1973, this album should definitely be in the time-capsule as a benchmark performance by a band that totally "went for it". Many of the songs are quite complex in their composition -- and their execution is flawless through the twists and turns, the breaks, the solos...
I saw the Climax Blues Band in person on three occasions, and to this day they were the band to beat when it came to LIVE performance. Especially noteworthy is lead guitarist/vocalist Pete Haycock's fearless and brilliant performance. Nobody was tighter than these guys on stage, and this recording is a testament to the Climax Blues Band at their best. NOTE: This is one CD you'll want to crank up "to 11" for the full effect!
It's worth noting, not just for Climax fans, but for anyone who is appreciative of virtuoso guitarists and LIVE blues, that the aforementioned ex-Climax Blues Band lead guitarist, PETE HAYCOCK, has just released an amazing new LIVE recording with his current band, "Pete Haycock's True Blues". This new CD, along with Pete Haycock's other recent release (also excellent!), "Bikers' Dozen", are outstanding recordings by this gifted guitarist/composer, and are VERY highly recommended! I can't rate them highly enough -- they only gave me 5 stars with which to vote! (Check out Pete's website as well as the RMI Sound site for more info).
Enjoy!!!

$13.39 Wadada Leo Smith has been on a creative tear since his disc Kulture Jazz appeared on ECM in the mid-'90s. John Zorn's Tzadik label has been host to some of Smith's most aesthetically adventurous and satisfying outings in recent years, so it's no surprise that the trumpeter and composer picked this label for his first solo trumpet recording in over 30 years. Playing trumpet and flügelhorn, without the aid of any production effects, Smith offers an album full of warmth and humor that is genuinely accessible. The set opens with the title work, a shimmering, glowing track that includes phrases from "Over the Rainbow" and "On the Sunny Side of the Street," among others; they are woven into a timbral fabric that ...

$12.69 Who is ILL Heights?ILL Heights comes from the south suburbs of Chicago in an area where low income homes and the middle working class dominate. The group consists of three members who each bring a different style to the group. Durish brings the hypeness to ILL Heights with his aggressive, in your face vocals. J90 brings a slow punch line filled flow, and is a born hook man. Roop brings ILL Heights a chill, yet ride to flow and can fluctuate from this to an aggressive swagger filled vocalists. Our music can be described as something you have never heard before. The style can be fun party rap, meets hardcore to being clubby and bass filled. Every song is catchy and will stick to you as soon as you listen to it witch makes ILL Heights listeners wanting to listen even more.MembersDerek Durish - DurishJasen Miller - J90Eric Roop - RoopILL Heights “Written Freestylesâ€Written Freestyles is a CD introducing ILL Heights as a group and what we come from. The CD has sixteen tracks including two hilarious skits created by Tony Rab “T Rabitâ€. We bring some serious tracks to the table and some tracks for the ladies. As well as some hardcore club bangers. Written Freestyles can be played at clubs, parties, homes, and is a good CD to ride to. Especially if you have a good sound ...
