| | Vinnie Vincent Invasion CD - Import Vinnie Vincent Discography of CDs
(2 Customer Reviews)
Former KISS guitarist Vinnie Vincent's 1986 album features an all-star group of musicians including Journey's Robert Fleischman and Slaughter's Dana Strum performing hits like "Animal," "Invasion," and "Boyz Are Gonna Rock."
The debut from ex-Kiss guitar slinger Vinnie Vincent, is, well...hair metal through and through. It's got all the calling cards of a band that spent way too much gig money on Aqua-Net. You get the rockin' riff "I wanna party" tunes, the sleazy song or two ("Shoot You Full of Love"), screams, shreds, and drums galore. The nice thing about this record is that it lacks the obligatory ballad, which may have attracted a larger audience (i.e., girls) and pushed up the sales, but you gotta admire them for stickin' to the rock. ~ Chris True

| Invasion Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Scary Looks...Scary Guitars!!! When I first heard this great album in the mid 80s I fell in love with the super fast solos and catchy lyrics (not their looks though--scary)! It still stands the test of time today, but it took me forever to find it on CD! Vinnie Vincent is a great song writer and his guitar solo skills are sensational and at breakneck speed (hold on and check out the ending solo on the song “Animal”). Robert Fleischman voice has always been a favorite of mine (check out his new solo album) that fits well with Vinnie’s guitar assault. For Heavy Metal fans it doesn’t get any better than the songs “Do You Wanna Make Love”, “Baby-O” and the awesome “Shoot U Full of Love”. MADE 2 B PLAYED AT MAXIMUM VOLUME! AWSOME GUITARS AND SCREAMING VOCALS VINNIE VINCENT was and still is in my book the best speed metalist in the universe and beyond,no one today can compare their instrumental talents with the INVASION,way back when it first came out,I was instantly addicted, then ROBERT FLIESHMAN quit the band because VINNIE wanted to break the sound barrier with his one of a kind guitar playing, any way that you look at him to the day,he is the best,HENDRIX couldn't hold a candle to him if he was still alive and kicking Submitted by arielleblaylock (BLIND IN TEXAS) Was This Review Helpful? Purchase Invasion CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Metallica Ride The Lightning CD (1984)
Invasion album
$14.79 Metallica turned the metal world on its ear with their debut album, KILL 'EM ALL and then blew its mind with the follow-up, RIDE THE LIGHTNING. The riffs and arrangements are more intricate, the lyrics are more intelligent and biting and James Hetfield's growl is meaner. The set starts out with two tunes that would have been right at home on KILL 'EM ALL, but the next two are slower and more involved. "Ride The Lightning" is a slow (by Metallica's standards) dirge about the futility of war. "Fade To Black" is a ballad (!) that builds to an instrumental coda featuring the guitar melodies that the band would later base their ...

$9.29 With two back to back hit albums behind it (OUT OF THE CELLAR and INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY), Ratt found itself near the top of the 1980s hard rock heap. With their party hearty lifestyle also serving as the subject matter for much of their music, the quintet wisely ...
| | Vinnie Vincent Invasion All Systems Go CD (1988)
Invasion music CDs
$6.95 Does that high-pitched wail sound familiar? Well, odds are if you're reading this, you should know it. For Vinnie's second album, good ol' Mark Slaughter (who would soon -- with Invasion bassist Dana Strum -- form the even more successful and creatively named hair metal band Slaughter) takes over vocals from the departed Robert Fleischman, and while his high-pitched wails are a bit hard to take, his vocals give this record a bit more consistency than the debut. Outside of that it's kinda just more of the same. Unfortunate for Mr. Vincent given his obvious talents, this sort of "metal" that somehow thrived from 1985-1990 (or so) wasn't the type of rock that was open to too much experimentation. So what you get here is a pretty run-of-the-mill ...
| | 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection: The Best Of Kingdom Come CD (2003)
Invasion songs
$7.45 This is part of Universal Records "20th Century Masters: The Millenium Collection" series.
Yeah, Kingdom Come were a bit too enamored with Led Zeppelin on their first album, and their career didn't last much longer after that, but at the very least they were one of the very examples of what was storming the rock charts back in 1987-1988. Zep-styled riffs and that sorta watered-down boogie-guitar swagger were everywhere, and Kingdom Come were just one of the many bands getting loads and loads of criticism from purists. Oddly, though, the kids (for a short time) loved it, and the records sold enough to convince those at Polydor to release this collection of some of their more well-known tunes. Obviously, it's not a collection that's gonna be picked up for its artistic integrity ("Get It On" sounds like a half-baked "Kashmir"), but it's probably fair to say that Kingdom Come really wasn't too concerned with "art." This collection works because it's a fairly good snapshot of the kind of rock that very, very briefly made quite an impact in the late '80s. If acid-washed jeans and big hair were your thing, then this collection was tailor-made. ~ Chris True

| | Loudness Thunder In The East CD (1985)
Invasion album
$10.65 Loudness was a Japanese hard rock quartet that had numerous hit albums in the 80's and early 90's. Thunder In The East reached number 74 on the Billboard charts in 1985. Wounded Bird. 2003.
With 1985's Thunder in the East, Loudness were faced with the daunting challenge of conquering heavy metal fans outside their homeland of Japan for the first time. Knowing that their early sound might prove a tad too heavy and complex for American audiences, the foursome rose to the occasion by dispensing their most melodic compositions ever. Yet, except for a few obvious examples, like "We Could Be Together," first single "Crazy Nights," and the power ballad "Never Change Your Mind," the band doesn't seem at all self-conscious about this transition. A few all-out headbangers like "Get Away" and "Clockwork Toy" are hammered out for good measure, but it's excellent tracks like "Heavy Chains," "The Lines Are Down," and "No Way Out" which obtain the best results by bridging the gap between both extremes and providing the best foundations for Akira Takasaki's incendiary guitar solos. In fact, were it not for singer Minoru Niihara's poor English-speaking skills (which quite understandably result in some amusing lyrical transgressions) little here belies the band's unique origins, and for that ...

| | Ted Shinn Healing Frequencies CD (2008)
Invasion music CDs
$17.69 Yes! It's here!HEALING FREQENCIES...!Welcome one and all to this space, a space of... well, healing frequencies! This is a quirky, inspiring, impressionistic journey through melody and moods. And, as is customary for Ted Shinn music, some very trippy tunes, indeed."Deanna's Dance" is named after a wonderful woman named Deanna and it's an upbeat, joyous, unrestricted and catchy groove. "Healing Frequencies" is a reflective, serene song written for Ted's mother upon her passing. It's peaceful and beautiful. When mixing the song, there was a wonderful waveform upon the oscilloscope as it was mixed--hence the idea for the healing frequency."The Voice Inside" Sure to be a favorite. Has that funky beat that Enigma made popular with a dash of Thompson Twins thrown in. "My House" spins you around both in sound and literally. You'll be transported right on the dance floor!"Glory" uses oboe to weave an unforgettable melody and melancholy tune. It oddly evokes a sense of the South as well."After Yohimbe" is certainly hallucinagenic in nature. Yohimbe is a South American herb used for sexual performance and the side effects are hallucinations. After this dose of musical medicine you'll be ready to go all night, too! "Twilight ...
