After touching down on the psychedelic ground of America, Asia, Latin America, and Japan, the folks at QDK have headed to Ole' Blighty for some late-'60s and early-'70s blotter fun. Alluding to the day's musical giants, the mix conjures up the goth organ ambience of Procol Harum (Bodkin's "Three Days After Death, Pt. 1"), the Small Faces' mod experimentation (Andwella's Dream's "Felix"), Hendrix's blues balladry (Candida Pax's "Reach Out"), and, of course, the Beatles' paisley pop (Gary Walker & the Rain's "Magazine Woman"). Through the mesmerizing and lo-fi mix of fuzz guitar, wobbly vocals, organ trippiness, and all-around garage raving, most tracks here transcend their obvious influences to become something fairly original. More far out than Syd Barrett at times and even catchier than an Association hit, this edition of the Love, Peace & Poetry series will provide crate-digging psych fans a host of musical pleasures. ~ Stephen Cook

When he was 19 years old, a friend gave him a guitar.Three years later he gave his first concerts as a guitarist. And shortly thereafter Thilo was on his way in the German and European Club-scene; he also had his first gigs at folk festivals and performed about 80 to 100 concerts a year. The music he played at that time with acoustic steel-string guitars could be classified as instrumental folk-rock.In spite of growing success with that kind of music one thing left him increasingly unsatisfied: the limited possibility to "form tone" and to "make strings sing" with steel-string guitars. In 1985 a Paco ...
