Scott Kinsey Kinesthetics CD (2006)
Rat Pack: Live At The Sands album for sale This eclectic set of jazz fusion from the keyboard player Scott Kinsey and his extensive list of sidemen conjures the late-1960s, early-'70s era of Miles Davis's extended jazz-rock-funk improvisations as well as elements of Weather Report. The cohesive interplay on cuts like the title track and "Big Rock" makes for a focused, unique-sounding effort that, while influenced by the aforementioned artists, has a distinctive, supple intelligence.
This the long-overdue solo debut from keyboard whiz Scott Kinsey who has been considered a secret weapon in jazz rock outfit Tribal Tech. He finally steps out as a leader this CD, rekindling relationships with a core group of L.A. colleagues, including T

Milt Jackson Jazz Skyline CD (1956)
Rat Pack: Live At The Sands CD music This session has interest as an example of Milt Jackson's mid-'50s work in a non-Modern Jazz Quartet context. And despite the many critical assertions that the vibist was restrained by pianist John Lewis' direction, his playing here revealed no marked changed. The overall feel of the group (Lucky Thompson, tenor sax; Hank Jones, piano; Wendell Marshall; bass, Kenny Clarke, drums; Jackson, vibes), however, was somewhat more dynamic than that of The MJQ, as Clarke and Jones generally achieved a greater sense of forward momentum than Connie Kay or Lewis. ~ Bob Rusch, Cadence

Irvin Mayfield Half Past Autumn Suite CD (2003)
Rat Pack: Live At The Sands buy CD music This is an Enchanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
Trumpeter and los Hombres Calientes co-founder Irvin Mayfield's third album for the Basin Street label is an ambitious suite of compositions written in honor of photographer Gordon Parks, whose works were placed on exhibit in the New Orleans Museum of Art in 2000. As might be expected, Mayfield's compositions tend towards the abstract and impressionistic, with moments that draw explicitly on various musical traditions of New Orleans (note especially the brass band and second-line flavors that permeate "Evening") and on the blues (note especially the wonderful "Blue Dawn ('Til the Morning)," which features a spectacular cameo appearance by Wynton Marsalis). The album's finest moment, though, comes on the gently beautiful "Wind Song," a trumpet and piano duet between Mayfield and Parks himself. The CD includes a CD-ROM component that offers downloadable photos from the exhibition, an interview with Parks, and two behind-the-scenes videos of the band during the album's recording sessions. Recommended. ~ Rick Anderson

Stephane Grappelli Stephane Grappelli Meets Barney Kessel CD (1991)
Rat Pack: Live At The Sands CD music This excellent set features a logical combination. Violinist Stephane Grappelli originally came to fame through his recordings with guitarist Django Reinhardt. Barney Kessel, although more influenced by Charlie Christian than by Django, was one of the top jazz guitarists of the 1950s and '60s and his style was quite complementary to Grappelli's. The two teamed up for several albums' worth of material in 1969. This CD reissues the former LP I Remember Django, adding four additional selections and serving as a perfect introduction to the brilliant playing of Stephane Grappelli. ~ Scott Yanow

Clutch Robot Hive / Exodus CD (2005)
Rat Pack: Live At The Sands buy CD music One of the most diverse and unpredictable heavy-rock acts of the 1990s and 2000s, Clutch quickly garnered a loyal following with a sound that flat-out rocked yet refused to be pigeonholed. ROBOT HIVE/EXODUS is no exception. "The Incomparable Mr. Flannery" kicks off the record with a swaggering Zeppelin-meets-Ted Nugent bit of unadulterated stud rock and never lets up. It would be tempting to call this stoner rock, except for the fact that it's so high-energy. In addition, Neil Fallon's macho vocals belie his insightful, often strikingly poetic lyrics. "Mice and Gods" name-checks both Lucifer and OMNI Magazine, while "Pulaski Skyway" paints a vivid portrait of industrial greed. A meaty-sounding dose of gritty guitar rock that wears its 1970s influences on its sleeve, ROBOT HIVE/EXODUS aims to hit the gut and enlighten the mind.
With wildly creative songs that are both memorable and powerful, Robot Hive / Exodus solidifies Clutch's underground legend status as the kings of stoner rock/metal. Twelve years strong, six albums deep, and almost two thousand concerts old, Clutch holds its unique course across the musical universe. Who didn't have the chance to hear the band blasting live gigs here comes the NEW EDITION with bonus track "Slow Hole to China". 2006.

Tragik Outlaw CD (2009)
Rat Pack: Live At The Sands album for sale Welcome to the second release by TRAGIK titled "Outlaw". The band still consists of Damian D'Ercole on Guitars & Bass, Dirk Phillips on Drums & Phil Vincent on Guitars, Keys & Vocals. There are guest appearances on Lead Guitars by Steven Albanese, Billy Roux & Paul Colombo. Production was handled by Dirk & Phil at The Muzik Room.
As with their previous release, "Poetic Justice"melody is still the number 1 ingrediant in their brand of hard rock. Uncharacteristic of most hard rock releases is the inclusion of the power ballad "...in the Name of..."as the opening track. The band says they want to do things differently and not conform to any template. "A good song is a good song" says Vincent. "It shouldn't matter where it appears on the CD. Plus, it increases the impact of the hard rocking second track 'Two Timer'. It really hits you in the face. We want to be different and I think these collection of heavy songs and melodic rockers really will appeal to everyone's senses."
TRAGIK is truly a collection of 3 individuals from different backgrounds. Guitarist Damian D'Ercole is firmly rooted in heavy music like Killswitch Engage, All That Remains & Pantera. Drummer Dirk Phillips' background is in Progressive Rock and Phil Vincent is the man who holds it all together with his powerful lead vocals and multi-layered choruses and the colorful use of his tasteful keyboard treatments.
As with their first release, Vincent handles all the vocals proving still he's a force to be reckoned with. Injecting his Don Dokken/Paul McCartney/Kip Wingervoice into eachsong with incredible passion. Just listen to the beautiful "You are Everything to Me" where Vincent croons his way in the beginning of the song until the heavy metal finale where his voice morphs into a man possessed. Diversity is everywhere on"Outlaw".
Check out "Everything Changes" whith a riff Korn would salivate over and "Just Can't Get Enough" rocks hard after a synth heavy intro.
To say TRAGIK relies on 80's rock sensibilities doesn't fully explain the diverse content included in "Outlaw"."Outlaw" pulls everything from modern elements all the way back to '70's. Think Boston, the Beatles, Styx, Dokken & Journey with modern touches and you have TRAGIK.
. So sit back, put this CD in your player, crank up the volume and enjoy a full blown musical journey. You may also find the CD cover of particular interest with model Jenn Hilton "exposing" herself as the "Outlaw".
We hope you like it.
