Import remastered reissue of the long running Dutch rock act's 1984 album. Subtitled - Live From The Twilight Zone. 2001 Red Bullet. Something Heavy Going Down Music Something Heavy Going Down Music Review Average Rating: (3.5 out of 5 stars) Not So Golden Golden Earring is not up to par on this cd. One review says Radar Love blows away the studio version...no way.
"Moontan" and "Live"
is Golden Earring at their best. Submitted by chicknet (Chicopee, MA.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Pretty good, but no Last Blast Of The Century Yes, I was the one who said this version of "Radar Love" blows the studio version away. "Twilight Zone" isn't as good as the studio version (how could it be?) but it's the best live version I've ever heard. "Long Blond Animal" is also excellent, as is the single studio track included, "Something Heavy Going Down". This isn't as good a live album as Last Blast Of The Century (buy it), but it's still good. Unfortunately it leaves a few tracks out from the concert such as "The Devil Made Me Do It", which I would have liked to hear. The original 1977 Live album is good, but I don't listen to it because the Contraband-era stuff sucks in my opinion, and is basically just songs that are the definiton of boring and mediocre, and NEVER turned me on in the first place, like "Mad Love's Coming", "Fighting Windmills", "Con Man", and "To The Hilt." | | Flaming Lips Soft Bulletin CD (1999)
Something Heavy Going Down
$9.09 Symphonic, complex, massive...and damned catchy. 14 tracks including 'Race For The Prize', 'Sleeping On The Roof' & 'The Spiderbite Song'. 2002.
The Flaming Lips: Michael Ivins (vocals, guitar, bass); Steven Drozd (vocals, guitar, drums); Wayne Coyne (vocals, guitar). Additional personnel: Scott Bennett (bass). Producers: The Flaming Lips, Dave Fridmann, Scott Booker. Recorded in Cassadaga, New York, New York between April 1997 and February 1999. Flaming Lips: Steven Drozd (vocals, guitar, drums); Michael Ivins (vocals, guitars, bass guitar); Wayne Coyne (vocals, guitars). So where does a band go after releasing the most defiantly experimental record of its career? If you're the Flaming Lips, you keep rushing headlong into the unknown -- The Soft Bulletin, their follow-up to the four-disc gambit Zaireeka, is in many ways their most daring work yet, a plaintively emotional, lushly symphonic pop masterpiece eons removed from the mind-warping noise of their past efforts. Though more conventional in concept and scope than Zaireeka, The Soft Bulletin clearly reflects its predecessor's expansive sonic palette. Its multidimensional sound is positively celestial, a shape-shifting pastiche of blissful melodies, heavenly harmonies, and orchestral flourishes; but for all its headphone-friendly innovations, the music ...

Something Heavy Going Down
$15.39 Audio Mixers: Chris Lord-Alge; Deep Dish; Don Smith ; Greg Edwards; John Kovarek; Mark Needham; Shelly Yakus; Stephen W. Tayler; Matt Nordstrom. Audio Remixer: Deep Dish. Liner Note Author: David Wild. Illustrator: Stevie Nicks. Photographers: Cliff Watts; Karen Williams Johnston; Neal Preston. With her legacy obscured by tawdry tales of strange drugs in even stranger places, it is easy to forget that Stevie Nicks is a legend first and foremost for her music. Her formidable songwriting genius (she penned many of the most enduring Fleetwood Mac songs), her post-flower child mix of Mists of Avalon and Hollywood decadence, and her uniquely husky vibrato made her one of the planet's biggest rock stars from the mid 1970s through the mid '80s. Both with Fleetwood Mac and as a solo artist, she practically lived at the top of the charts for a decade. CRYSTAL VISIONS: THE VERY BEST OF STEVIE NICKS attempts to be the one and only Nicks compilation, but buyer beware: While the tracklist includes Fleetwood classics such as "Dreams," "Rhiannon," and "Landslide" paired with her own stand-out solo hits, these are not the original Mac versions, but rather rerecordings and live reimaginings. While these takes pale next to the originals, they are still fine readings of undeniably great songs. CRYSTAL VISIONS, thankfully, does not mess around with the solo material, and all of Nicks's chart-toppers are here in their original forms: "Edge of Seventeen," "Stand Back," "If Anyone Falls In Love," "Leather and Lace," ...
