Better than average Anyone who knows the movie "Dick Tracy" knows what you're in for... over the top performances, visuals and sound effects. The DVD matches your memory with a great picture, and surprisingly good sound. The Dolby Digital 5.1 mix is very directional -- and yes -- the surrounds are active throughout, but mostly when gunfire is present. The addition of the DTS track is a welcome one, as the DTS track offers higher bandwith, more aggressive surrounds and bass response. Extra's? You've heard this story -- there aren't any. Get over it. If you've seen the movie before and like it.. definitely buy it, if you've never seen it? better rent it before buying it... not for poor dvd quality, but only a select group of people like this movie... Dick Tracy film
$10.09 Don Siegel's cult masterpiece, interpreted as an allegory of both McCarthyism and Communism, is undoubtedly one of the screen's most disturbing evocations of paranoia. It stars Kevin McCarthy as Dr. Miles Binnell, a physician whose traumatized arrival in the emergency room of a San Francisco hospital leads the staff to believe he's lost his mind. In a series of flashbacks, he unwinds a bizarre account of his last few days. After his return from a trip to rural Santa Mira, his nurse, Sally (Jean Willes), explains that his office has been flooded with patients who have made appointments yet never appeared. Former girlfriend Becky Driscoll (Dana Wynter) tells him that she's unable to rid herself of the belief that the man claiming to be her uncle is an impostor. A hysterical young boy refuses to return home, claiming that his mother is not his mother. Miles's concern over this pattern of incidents, temporarily allayed by some jargon from the town psychiatrist, is newly aroused when he gets a phone call from friend Jack Belicec (King Donovan), who begs him to come over and take a look at the strange mannequinlike figure that's suddenly appeared on his pool table. This exceptionally well written and directed fable, the ultimate comment on the subtly coercive conformity of the 1950s, may be Siegel's best film, and it is undoubtedly one of the most exciting science fiction films ever made.

| | Castle Of Cagliostro DVD (1979) Widescreen
Dick Tracy review
$10.29 The feature film debut of Hayao Miyazaki (NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, PRINCESS MONONOKE), THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO depicts one adventure of the master thief Lupin and his rough-around-the-edges gunman, Jigen. Something of a cross between Batman, James Bond, and Cary Grant's character in TO CATCH A THIEF, Lupin is a suave ladies' man who is also given to feats of athletic daring, aided by a gadget filled belt that gets him out of more than a few scrapes. The plot has Lupin and Jigen traveling to the sleepy little country of Cagliostro and coming to the aid of the unwilling fiance of the diabolical Count Cagliostro. After CAGLIOSTRO, Miyazaki stopped creating "slapstick" feature films in favor of more serious fare; CAGLIOSTRO shows, however, that he is quite capable of delivering the goods in this genre. Based on the Lupin comics by the artist Monkey Punch, CAGLIOSTRO is a great heist/chase film that surpasses most similar live action fare and breezes by with more than a couple of inventive set pieces, as well as some excellent comic dialogue.
100 minute Japanese animation DVD. Master thief Lupin III, aka the wolf, and his right-hand gunman Jigen are hot o n the trail of a counterfeiter who swindled them...but they find far more than they are looking for when their search leads them to the secluded European country of Cagliostro.

| | Nuns - New York Vampires DVD (2008)
Dick Tracy review
$13.39 For the first time, the story of these curvaceous latex clad women can be told in their own words and pictures as the queen nun Tiffany Tarantula, an uber blond she-wolf finally allows access to The Nuns vault. From their earliest appearance in the San Francisco punk scene, right through to their rebirth in New York's S&M and Goth world, no decolletage or cleavage is left covered or coffin left unopened. If you love The Nuns, vampires, Goth girls, or just gothic nonsense spiced up with low life sluts, breasts, wannabe Nun groupies, submissive bankers, more breasts, and the occasional evolutionary outrage in human form, then this DVD is for you!
