This music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman are positively delightful. While not as good as the Little Mermaid score, this album has its moments, such as "Be Our Guest" (in an A Chorus Line style). Including both orchestral and vocal selections, it features the talents of Robby Benson, Paige O'Hara, and Angela Lansbury, among others. The album also includes "Beauty and the Beast" as a duet between Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson. ~ Tavia Hobart

I have had the privelage to grow up watching Disney movies. Beauty and the Beast happens to be a favorite of mine. The music, passion, comedy, and adventure that this movie holds, can't be found anywhere else. For those of you who havent seen the movie, what are you waiting for?

Beauty and the Beast is one of the best animated films of all time and the music is just wonderful. The soundrack deserves to be sold in department stores where everyone can access it, not just people on the internet.

At the time of its release in March 1990 -- just a mere two years after It Takes a Nation of Millions -- nearly all of the attention spent on Public Enemy's third album, Fear of a Black Planet, was concentrated on the dying controversy over Professor Griff's anti-Semitic statements of 1989, and how leader Chuck D bungled the public relations regarding his dismissal. References to the controversy are scattered throughout the album -- and it fueled the incendiary lead single, "Welcome to the Terrordome" -- but years later, after the furor has died down, what remains is a remarkable piece of modern art, a record that ushered in the '90s in a hail of multi-culturalism and kaleidoscopic confusion.
