Closed Captioned; Second Audio Track; Additional Footage; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles Bobby Kent (Nick Stahl) is not a nice guy. He beats up his "best friend" Marty every chance he gets, he abuses Marty's girlfriend Lisa, and he rapes Lisa's friend Ali. From director Larry Clark (KIDS) and screenwriter David McKenna (AMERICAN HISTORY X) comes this gruelling thriller based on the true story of Bobby Kent, a bossy Florida teenager who was beaten to death by a group of his peers.
There isn't a lot to do in the suburban Florida town that Bobby and his "friends" inhabit. They play violent shoot-em-up video games, they work at the Pizza Hut, they go surfing at the beach, and they cruise in their hot rods. But mostly, Bobby and his friends have lots of sex. The film is drenched in graphic shots of barely legal naked teenagers. (This has been Clark's favorite subject matter since his days as a photographer, as illustrated in his 1997 book TEENAGE LUST.) Sexual identity is an undercurrent in Bobby's story: he watches gay porn while he rapes Ali, and he forces Marty to dance with him at a gay club. Some of the other teenagers think that Bobby and Marty are a couple. But this is a minor issue. They decide to kill Bobby because he's a bully who has hurt and angered them; and because they're bored and desensitized to violence. In BULLY, Clark provides another hard look at the hard lives of American teenagers, in all their confusion. It isn't pretty. Theatrical Release: JULY 13, 2001 (NY/LA)
Bully Reviews: "...[A] gripping, intelligent film..."
-- Steve Grayson, Total Film "...The movie is brilliantly and courageously well-acted by its young cast; it's one of those movies so perceptive and wounding that there's no place for the actors to hide, no cop out they can exercise..."
-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times "...It's filmed with passion and with a courage of convictions that mainstream studio releases have just about abandoned. Rachel Miner is a standout..."
-- Mike Clark, USA Today "...A truly disturbing modern tragedy unfolds..."-- Lucy Neville, Sight and Sound "...Tautly made....The acting is hypnotically good....A well-recruited cast gives the film a sense of trapped lives..."-- Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter "...[Clark] has assembled a talented and uninhibited cast -- Michael Pitt is especially good and surprisingly funny..."-- A. O. Scott, New York Times "...[BULLY is] abundant in visual times; at times, one wonders if Clark might have been poring over prints of Techine's WILD REEDS or Bruno Dumont's LIFE OF JESUS..."
-- Chuck Stephens, Film Comment Bully Movie Review Average Rating: (3.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Great Story, Could have been better. The movie Bully is a great story. Some of the sceans shouldn't have been in this movie such as the kinky sex. I also believe that they can make a movie without using profanty and talking nasty. The story is about Lisa Connelly wanting a bully boy name Bobby Kent dead. Lisa's boyfriend Marty and Bobby has been friends since they where kids. At one time Lisa tries to shoot Bobby with her moms gun during sex with her friend Alice. Later Lisa makes a deadly plan and has seven of her teenage friends, one cousin, and her boyfriend Marty to kill Bobby. A girl named Heather is the signal that starts the killing. The killing is brutal, bloody, and scary. Heather and Alice hides in the car while the killing is going on. Lisa Connelly is enjoying watching Bobby Kent die. This movie is bast on a true story and justice has been served right in real life. The movie Bully could have been a better movie without the sex, nudity, profanity sceans and limited some of the violence. Again it's a great story and I will give it a --4-- Submitted by movieman102002 (Hindman KY.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.

Top of the line This movie is top of the line material. Nick Stahl, & Brad Renfro, 2 talented child actors, played their parts well. This is a must see movie, showing a darker side of troubled teens winding up on the wrong side of the tracks. This isn't fiction, it's based in real life, what really happened. I have it on DVD, & it shows proof. Submitted by uglycoyoteguy (NW Indiana) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.

POWERFUL WHEN I FIRST SAW THE MOVIE ON CABLE I DID NOT KNOW THAT IT WAS BASED ON A TRUE STORY. IT SHOWS YOU THE LIVES OF THESE TEENAGERS AND WHAT PRESSURES THEY HAVE REGARDING RELATIONSHIPS & FRIENDSHIPS AND HOW SOMEONE MAY GO OVER THE EDGE AND DO SOMETHING THAT EXTREME. Bernardo Bertolucci's THE DREAMERS centers on three university students who adore the Cinematheque Francaise, and are fascinated by '60s culture--the music of Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, the films of Jean-Luc Godard, and the writings of Susan Sontag and Chairman Mao. Their philosophical conversations about sexuality, love, politics, activism, and the Vietnam War; and their daily activities--going to the cinema, protesting in support of Henri Langlois, lounging around naked, and smoking dope--are a realistic reflection of the mood and energy of that era.
The plot involves Parisians Theo (Louis Garrel) and Isa (Eva Green), a brother-sister team with a strangely intimate connection. They befriend their American classmate Matthew (Michael Pitt), and invite him to stay at their apartment for a month while their parents are on vacation. The trio is so engrossed by their film studies that they act out scenes in an ongoing game of trivia, referencing classics like Sam ...

$17.59 From his current post in Antarctica, British glaciologist Matt (Kieran O'Brien), recalls how he met Lisa (Margo Stilley), a 21-year-old American student. They were at a rock concert at London's Brixton Academy, and he took her back to his apartment for sex. This began a brief relationship, which is revealed as Matt remembers and comments on its milestones--mainly the other concerts they attended and their significant sexual experiences--before their initial sexual attraction waned and they were forced to part.
The titular nine songs are comprised of concert performances by 1) Primal Scream, 2) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, 3) Elbow, 4) Michael Nyman, 5) Super Furry Animals, 6) The Dandy Warhols, 7) Von Bondies, 8) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club again, and 9) Franz Ferdinand. Shot on often-blurry, handheld digital video from an audience perspective, these scenes have a you-are-there effect. The sequences involving Matt and Lisa are intimate and realistic (be warned--the sex in the film is real and graphic), conveying everything one needs to know about their relationship with only the most rudimentary dialogue. With this brief, dreamlike work, director Michael Winterbottom (24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE) has theoretically created the ultimate music movie--one that is purely sex, drugs, and rock & roll. The result is akin to the feeling of listening to a great mix tape made by a former lover.
Matt, a young glaciologist, soars across the vast, silent, icebound ...

$6.35 Sidney Lumet faithfully adapts Ira Levin's witty play of intertwining intentions and duplicitous loyalties in his stinging thriller DEATHTRAP. Set in the glittering milieu of New York's Hamptons, the film stars Michael Caine as Sidney Bruhl, a washed-up writer of Broadway hit thrillers reeling from the unmitigated flop of his most recent play. Upon returning to his wife, Myra--a heart-murmur-afflicted, pill-popping, and incredibly wealthy hysterical played to great effect by Dyan Cannon--Sidney reveals that to add to his chagrin, a former student (Christopher Reeve) has sent him his brilliant first play, entitled DEATHTRAP. Much to his wife's dismay, Sidney concocts a mad scheme to lure the young playwright out to East Hampton and then promptly kill him in order to claim the ...
