Thin Red Line review Product Description

Thin Red Line movie was released May 25, 2004 by the 20th Century Fox studio. Terrence Malick's return to the director's chair after a 20-year absence is a challenging, philosophical, epic poem that already stands as a historic cinematic achievement. Thin Red Line VHS for sale Continuing the blend of abstracted intellect and pure, honest emotion that he established with his previous 1970s classics, BADLANDS and DAYS OF HEAVEN, this adaptation of the James Jones novel feels like a nostalgic dream.   ...See Full Description

Makes for a great sleep aid!
Thin Red Line video A movie that was supposed to be about world war 2. But it ended up being a movie about people who miss their wives. This movie sucked, the acting was horrible, the plot was pointless, and it was way too long! Bottom line, don't buy!

An amazing war film, and an amazing experience
"The Thin Red Line" is easily one of the greatest war films ever made. Based on the novel by James Jones, a World War II veteran who faught on Guadalcanal with the 25th infantry division and was wounded in battle, the story and events that happen in this movie are extremely realisic. Terrence Malick (director) and the all-star cast portay the horrors of World War II with amazing reality. Malick's artistic direction is incredible. It's easy to lose yourself in this film and realize what these men had to endure. It's an emotional experience from beginning to end.

an uphill battle of epic proportion
The Thin Red Line has all the makings of a war classic but somehow misses it's mark. With it's all star cast and a storyline that should be every director's dream, Terence Malick seemed to have lost direction. This definitely wasn't Travolta's best work! Nick Nolte was average at best. The bright spots in this movie all belonged to Sean Penn, Jim Caviezel and the scenery. It had me at the beginning and it had me at the end but I could have done without most of the rest of the movie.

Not your average war movie
Thin Red Line review Yes, the movie is on the long side, I found my mind drifting to other things, and it parades the stars out like a drinking movie, but Malick fills it with stunning shots and althernates scenes between war and peace. I typically do not car for films with too much narrative, but this one made me think which is what I like in movies. For someone who is looking for wall to wall action and lots of blood and guts, skip this movie. It is more about connecting with oneself, connecting with others, and connecting with fragments of truth.
