John Wayne American These are the most inspiring lyrics I've even heard. This was wonderful when it first came out. Now with all that our Country is going through, I think every American should listen to this. It comes from an American actor who cared for his coutry, not the stars now who want to leave this country if someone isn't elected. Submitted by pd2rsp (Springfield. MO) Was This Review Helpful? | | James William Hindle Town Feeling CD (2005)
America: Why I Love Her
$11.39 For British folk-balladeer, James William Hindle, the road to success has mainly been outside his homeland. Though having opened for artists like The Shins and Devendra Banhart in bucolic England, it is the U.S. that has most openly embraced this young singer. On Town Feeling, his third full-length album, there are the same wistful, delicately-strummed melodies strewn with hope and acoustic longing that garnered critical praise for his self-titled debut and his second album Prospect Park. His songs have been featured on The OC, One Tree Hill, MTV Road Rules, The Real World and on the DVD releases for the show Roswell. On Town Feeling, there's the definite sound of a maturity found. After over a year of touring the U.S. with bands like Of Montreal, The Essex Green and The Ladybug Transistor and appearing on compilations with Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, Wilco and Spoon, among others, Hindle's musical persona has begun to spread its wings. Hindle is ably joined on Town Feeling by members of Vetiver, Currituck Co. and Espers and it was recorded by Gary Olson of The Ladybug Transistor. He will be touring the U.S. opening for the innocence mission and Bart Davenport in the summer of 2005 and will be featured on an upcoming Rough Trade compilation.Press for James William Hindle's previous albums:Music's Best of '03#2 James William Hindle "Prospect Park" - Windy City Times (Chicago, Ill.) by Gregg Shapiro "After touring as a member of the Essex Green, British songsmith James William Hindle has left the Red House Painted sound of his first album behind for a much friendlier tone. His second album, Prospect Park, captures a lot of that Elephant 6 magic that acts like the Essex Green, Ladybug Transistor and the Sunshine Fix have spread over the years. So much, in fact, members of those bands have helped Hindle out as his own backing band. Keeping the faint bits of Americana heard on his debut, Hindle shines in mixing his styles without the slightest hint of change. Prospect Park is simply what dreams are made of." - Exclaim(James William Hindle) is pure Americana - MojoTOP PICK!6 out of 6"It would be difficult for any artist to ...

| | Roger Cairns Let's CD (2008)
America: Why I Love Her
$11.49 Roger Cairns started singing at a very early age and hasn’t stopped since. He sang at hisaunt’s wedding when he was three years old. He sang in the church choir. Every year, hesang at the local residents\' association Christmas party. He sang at school and was 12when he was awarded the Robert Burns Prize for excellence in the singing of Scottishsongs. That’s what Roger knew, that’s what he loved, and that’s what he decided he wasgoing to do when he turned 9: he was going to become a singer.Flash forward 50 years and Roger is in Los Angeles, California, singing with a 20-piecejazz orchestra. His musical path out of the Scottish projects was circuitous, to say theleast: it took him from crawling over English rooftops installing television antennas todelivering refreshments to the Beatles; from taking helicopter trips to North Sea oilrigs toorganizing outdoor stunt spectaculars in Saudi Arabia; from impromptu visits by theKGB to the birth of his three children. And yet, though life frequently got in the way andRoger had to put his musical career on hold several times over the years, never did any ofhis experiences feed his soul the way music did and nothing ever replaced his love ofsinging.Roger was born in the small coal mining village of Gilmerton, a suburb of Edinburgh, Scotland in1946. Not surprisingly, Roger’s talent and his penchant for music were neither nurturednor welcomed by his family in a post-war Britain more concerned with survival thanentertainment. So when he was 15 years old, Roger was sent off to complete a five-yearmining engineering apprenticeship with the National Coal Board. But eighteen months later, tired of being underground, Roger emerged from the bowels ofthe Scottish mines and headed for London to pursue his dream. He was 17. Within acouple of years, Roger found himself touring Germany with London-based Rare Amberand releasing a blues album on the Polydor label. Then came Rubber Duck, a nine-piecejazz-rock ensemble which caught the ear of Bee Gees manager Dick Ashby and earnedRoger backstage congratulations from Jimi Hendrix. The group ...
