Temperamental album for sale Product Description
Temperamental album for sale by Everything But The Girl was released Sep 27, 1999 on the Virgin label. WALKING WOUNDED's open embrace of dance music was revolutionary in the context of EBTG's delicate pop past. But the duo's 11th studio album signals a complete break with this history. Whereas EBTG previously flirted with drum-and-bass, techno, and house while remaining in touch with the pop melodies of past recordings, TEMPERAMENTAL is a more focused affair. The album reflects Ben Watt's increased profile as a deep house DJ, featuring the EBTG/Deep Dish collaboration "The Future of the Future." Tracy Thorn's voice proves as plaintive and despairing as ever on an album preoccupied with the facets of urban life. ...See Full Description

| A soundtrack for a club-hoppers life. If Everything But The Girl were to ever compile a 'Greatest Hits' album, they would have to include the entire House/Techno masterpiece 'Temperamental'. Even so called 'Greatest Hits' albums have a few clunkers but every track on this non-greatest hit CD is powerful and refreshing. Thorn's melancholic vocals will both sooth and haunt you. Her yearning for love lost and love not yet found is heartwrenchingly beautiful. Backed by beats, blips and dreamlike synths by mastermind Ben Watt. The album successfully and realistically brings the club home to you. Every beat brings with it memories of the cold, orange lit streets at night. While upon your exiting of the club you can feel the cold rush of air break against your face. The city before you veiled in a mystical mist and fog. While you breath in the smoke from the club, you recoil in disgust and your head pulsates even more as the drinks invade your brain and you can't tell if it's the big beats from the club that are pounding in your head or the effects of the cheap booze. ETBG brings all this and more in their hard to beat album 'Temperamental'. Minus the hangover of course.
