(3 Customer Reviews)
Mainstream Distortion create passionate, industrial, techno which takes the listener on a journey through angst ridden, cyber punk and dark landscapes of sound fused with commercial poetic melodies. Formed in July 04, they immediately recorded 40 tracks that Stitch had pre-recorded onto his PC. The furious effect of these recordings quickly buzzed through the welsh music scene resulting in the duo's debut gig in the Legendary TJ's, selling out by word of mouth alone. Realising the potential they had, they mailed product to as many companies they could resulting in a 3 album production and management deal with Some Bizzare Records. Now after 3 months of intense recording and mastering the debut album "Bully" is set for release, enhanced with a video by cult movie Director Alex Chandon (Pervirella/Cradle of Fear). PersonneStitch - Vocals/Electronix :- Bullied as a child Stitch found solice in computers, starting on his favourite possesion the Amiga 500 and a music package named Octamed, at only 8 years old was allready creating complex musical compositions which 15 years on are still an integral part of the Mainstream Distortion sound. Vocally hypnotic, Stitch's creativity includes designing all of the act's artwork/logos and website. Craig Michael Orchard - Vocals/guitars:- At 26 years old guitarist Craig has made a lasting impression n the national music scene with former group Janeiro. An exceptional lyracist and poet who's innotive guitar style and furious live performances compliment Stitch's music perfectly. Phduk.2006

| Bully Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Holy Hell Wow!!!I recieved my copy this morning hoping that my ears would hear something new. I was blessed with the music, angst ridden and brutal yet tainted with an emotion that does not have words to describe. Where the hell are these guys coming from? I totally stumbled on this band and I will now proudly add their masterpiece to my top ten cd shelf. I hope to hear more... allot more as they are going to give other bands tough dollar. | | Rosanne Cash List CD (2009)
Bully
$11.99 After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. It's a lovely and redemptive outing that looks back to go forward. When Cash turned 18, her father, alarmed that his daughter only knew the songs that were getting played on the radio, gave her a list of what he considered 100 essential American songs; Cash kept that list, and now she's drawn on it for this wonderfully nuanced outing that brims with a kind of redemptive timelessness. THE LIST is a renewal and a testament to life, and it belongs to her father as much as it belongs to her, a beautiful restatement of her father's passions, only now, they've become his daughter's treasures, as well. It's an affirming story, but that's all it would be if Cash didn't sing ...

Bully
$6.75 A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), to big-band jazz ("Harvey's Tune").
All the tunes make effective templates for the kind off-the-cuff music-making that in less capable hands might have resulted in simple noodling. In fact, although Bloomfield and Stills don't play together on any of the cuts (Bloomfield played on one side of the original LP, Stills on the other), all three principals get off lots of good licks and producer Kooper has some interesting tricks up his sleeve, as in the over-the-top phasing he lavishes on "You Don't Love Me." The only real disappointment here ...

$11.65 Gatsbys American Dream are pissed -- not at their ex-girlfriends, not at Mom and Dad, not at the government. For their self-titled fourth album, they've got a giant bone to pick with the music industry. OK, it's not like this idea hasn't been explored before, but seriously, 11 tracks later and it's a marvel GAD still want to play their instruments. Not only do they stick a giant middle finger to the players behind the scene -- labels, radio execs, promoters who screw them out of show guarantees -- but the Seattle troupe also hardly spares the feelings of the general punk/indie rock scene they spawned from. They've created a sort of cautionary ...
