Robinson Crusoe DVD
$7.05 An adaptation of the legendary biblical tale, director Bruce Beresford's film stars Richard Gere as King David, favorite of the God of Israel. Although only a shepherd boy, David is anointed as heir to the throne of Israel by Samuel (Dennis Quilley), who is disgusted with the weakness of Saul (Edward Woodward). When David brings the protracted war with the Philistines to an end by defeating their champion Goliath (George Eastman) in battle, he is celebrated by his people but must flee the country to avoid ...
| | Shelby Lynne Identity Crisis CD (2003)
Robinson Crusoe movie DVD
$11.69 An IDENTITY CRISIS for Shelby Lynne is no big surprise, considering that she began her career as the jazziest singer in Nashville, with predictably uncommercial results. Her previous two albums found Lynne making her bid for Sheryl Crow/Shawn Colvin-style pop stardom with big production and pop-rock aesthetics. This time around, she's producing herself, and the arrangements tend toward the opposite extreme; a bare-bones format with the rhythm section working around Lynne's voice and her (mostly acoustic) guitar. Whether Lynne is reclaiming her own identity or simply working with a smaller budget in the wake of disappointing sales figures, the change is a welcome one. The songs feel earthier, rootsier, and much closer to Lynne's heart, allowing her impressive voice to wring out all the inherent ...

WISHMASTER: After inadvertently freeing an evil Djinn from his gemstone prison, an auction house gemologist fights to bring his rampages to an end, as they include stealing the souls of the hapless humans whose wishes bring them to ironic early ends. Heavy on the computer-assisted effects, with some mitigating touches, such as Ted Raimi in a cameo and Englund as a stodgy art collector. Craven acted as Executive Producer, but later removed his name.
