Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; Sensor Matic The sequel to Eddie Murphy's smash hit family comedy, DR DOLITTLE, will certainly not disappoint fans of the first film. Murphy returns as the doctor, who has now garnered some measure of fame for his communication abilities, at least among the animal kingdom. Dolittle is also dealing with his rebellious teenage daughter (Raven Symone). But he drops everything when he's summoned by "The Beaver," the Godfather figure of the local forest, to help the animals preserve their home by stopping an overly aggressive lumber company. To save the forest, Dolittle has to take a trained performing bear (also an endangered species, who is endearingly voiced by Steve Zahn)--and introduce him to the wild to find a mate. Zahn's bear, who would rather star on Broadway than hibernate in the woods, is the comedic heart of the film, but there's an entertaining array of colorful animal characters, including Lucky the dog (Norm Macdonald reprising his role from the first film) and Pepito (Jacob Vargas), a chameleon who can't quite seem to blend in. Director Steve Carr (NEXT FRIDAY) keeps things light and lively, creating another surefire hit for Murphy and his animal crew. Dr. Dolittle 2 Reviews: "...In its heart, this is a romantic movie..."
-- Mike Clark, USA Today "...DR. DOLITTLE 2 has all the symptoms of a sure-fire smash hit. With Eddie Murphy once again in fine form....He's ingratiating and extremely amusing..."
-- Joe Leydon, Variety "...DR. DOLITTLE 2 swerves happily and unexpectedly into old-fashioned power to the people (I mean, animals) social realism....DR. DOLITTLE 2 offers benign Darwinian amusement for young animal lovers..."
-- A. O. Scott, New York Times "...The broad, slightly salty nature of the humour marks a refreshing change from the anodyne comedy of so many children's movies....[Murphy's] performance is a quiet marvel..."
-- Edward Lawrenson, Sight and Sound "...The film boasts an impressive roster of voice talent..."-- Neil Smith, Total Film "...[The film] features an engaging performance by the continually remarkable Murphy..."

| | Ozzy Osbourne Ozzmosis CD (1995) Remastered
Dr. Dolittle 2 video
$7.59 Let us all be thankful that Ozzy's retirement didn't stick. It supposedly lasted for three days, after which he got bored and started working on this project. Heavy, riff-intensive tunes, progressive song structures and a little psychedelia give OZZMOSIS a definite Sabbath flavor. Ozzy must have been in touch with whatever inspired early classics like PARANOID and MASTERS OF REALITY. Witness the extremely chunky "Thunder Underground," which can stand up next to "Sweet Leaf" and "Symptom Of The Universe" as an archetype of hard rock. The trippy guitar in "Ghost Behind My Eyes" and "Denial" are not some young Ozzy-wannabe going for a retro sound--this man was there, "Planet Caravan"ing.
Still, this heavy metal daddy in touch with his roots is also hip to the genre's latest sound. OZZMOSIS has a live, up-front feeling, thanks to producer Michael Beinhorn (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soundgarden). Zakk Wylde's huge, raw guitar also plays a major role. He provides scorching solos, lush textures and juicy fills with a muscular tone and minimal effects--the perfect complements to Osbourne's songwriting.
But more important than the raging guitars and the big sound is attitude. Ozzy's spunk has indeed rejected retirement. His songs still spew biting commentary at whoever will listen. "Your bulls**t culture licking can't stop the deathwatch ticking/You're only mortal after ...
| | Ozzy Osbourne The Ozzman Cometh CD (2002)
Dr. Dolittle 2 film
$9.69 THE OZZMAN COMETH is a single CD collection of hits, previously unavailable recordings and one new track. Previously included a limited edition second disc containing 2 of the 4 previously unavailable recordings as well as an interview with Ozzy Osbourne.
As if we needed another reason to believe that Ozzy Osbourne is God, along comes THE OZZMAN COMETH, a double CD retrospective of one of the most enduring and influential figures in heavy metal. Consisting mostly of his post-Black Sabbath solo work as well as a live version of "Paranoid," this collection's biggest asset is the so-called "basement tapes," never-before-heard rehearsal tapes of four classic Sabbath songs. Dating back to 1970, "Black Sabbath" and "War Pigs" are the songs that transformed a petty thief from Birmingham, England into the godfather of heavy metal.
But if Sabbath cemented his place in the rock 'n' roll canon, his solo work raised him to legendary status. Working with former Quiet Riot guitarist Randy Rhoads, Osbourne set the tone for the 80's metal revival with songs like "Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley." Capping off the collection is a seventeen minute interview with Ozzy from 1988, where he speaks frankly about the ups and downs in his career (parents be forewarned: this is not for the faint of heart). Ozzy has made it through all the pitfalls of a life in rock and roll and has come out on ...

$22.75 Based on the true story of Thailand's 1996 national volleyball champions, this comedy follows a team transgendered players that wins its way into the competition. When Coach Bee, a new female coach, steps in to take over a team, she wants to choose her own players. Her first move is to select Mon, who was previously left off of the team for being gay. His addition causes several players to leave in protest--which leaves room for plenty of Mon's friends. Before long, only one team member is straight, and they finds that they are mowing down ...

Dr. Dolittle 2 movie DVD
$9.69 This uniquely 1970s blend of swords, sorcery, science fiction, kung-fu, fascism, and nuclear holocaust was director Ralph Bakshi's first venture into fantasy after his grim urban epics STREETFIGHT and HEAVY TRAFFIC. In a postapocalyptic future that appears as a blend of World War II Europe and J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, a pint-size wizard named Avatar (Bob Holt, sounding like Peter Falk) must save the world from a band of fascist mutants controlled by his evil twin brother, Blackwolf (Steve Gravers), who likes to confuse enemy armies by projecting films of Adolf Hitler speeches during attacks. Painted live-action footage of advancing Nazi armies contrasts with Saturday-morning-cartoon-style ...

$20.89 Former stand-up comic Tim Allen got his big break as Tim the "Tool Man" Taylor on this popular 1990s family sitcom. HOME IMPROVEMENT revolves around the career and family life of an average, but likeable handyman and car enthusiast who hosts a local home-maintenance show called "Tool Time." The sitcom's humor comes from Tim's squabbles with his wife Jill (Patricia Richardson), and his three sons: Mark, Randy, and Brad (Taran Noah Smith, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, and Zachary Ty Brian), and his mishaps on and off the set of "Tool Time." Other recurring ...
