 All that I remembered it to be
Excellent Gene Kelly movie. I saw this once many years ago now (late 80's) and was entranced by the story. Falls loosely into the category of the musical, so bought it to use in my teaching. My wife was enthralled with her first viewing. Strongly recommend.

 Don't Makle Movies Like This anymore 2009
This is my Favorite movie way back in 1957. It was a Beautiful movie and the Secnery was lovely filmed at "Schroon Manor" in the Adirondak Mountains no longer there any longer. What a chemistry between Natalie Wood and Gene Kelly and all the Actors were great in this lovely movie and the musical score was excellent. Shame they can't remake another movie like this.  MARJORIE MORNINGSTAR FOREVER
I have watched Marjorie Morningstar at least 30 times.The cast,storyline,and scenery are just wonderful.I have been to Schroon Lake N. Y. where the film was shot on numerous occasions.All the buildings of scaroon manor ( SOUTHWIND) are now torn down.It was sad walking around the property knowing that 30 years previously,Uncle Samson,Wally Wronkin,Marjorie Morningstar and her friend Marcia Zalenko were in the very same spot.Marjorie Morningstar is a genuine piece of Americana.I enjoyed it so much that I had the song " A Very Precious Love " sang for my wife at our wedding.
