Presently an Associate Professor of Music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Mary Logan Hastings joined their music faculty with a D.M.A. in Vocal Performance from the University of Maryland, and an extensive professional career in opera which has taken her from America to such European Houses as the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt am Main, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Opera Voor Vlaanderen, Theâtre du Capitole, and Theâter Basel. She has regularly performed leading roles such as "Zerbinetta" in Ariadne auf Naxos, "Sophie" in Der Rosenkavalier, "Gilda" in Rigoletto, "Musetta" in La Bohème, "Amina" in La Sonnambula, and "Die Königin der Nacht" in Die Zauberflöte. Dr. Hastings' solo concert work includes appearances with the Berliner Philharmonische under the baton of Christoph von Dohnányi, and performances with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Michael Gielen, Michel Plasson, Daniel Barenboim, Donald Runnicles, and the late Jean Pierre Ponelle and Robert Shaw, among others. Included in her concert repertoire as soprano soloist are The Four Last Songs of Richard Strauss, Rachmaninoff's Vocalise, Brahms' Requiem, Mahler's 8th Symphony, his 4th Symphony, and his Rückert Lieder, Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Haydn's Die Jahreszeiten. In addition to her European career, Dr. Hastings has performed recitals, and given master classes in the theaters and music conservatories of the Peoples Republic of China. She continues to perform, lecture, and adjudicate throughout the United States and Europe.Jan Halmes and Mary have enjoyed a deep musical rapport for more than twenty five years. Shir Nash is a talented, master guitarist. His interest in music began at age ten and has continued to grow for decades. His professional music career spans 28 years and his accomplishments continue to expand. Shir was educated in the Academy of Jerusalem under well known musicians; Egon Kerton and Stu Hacohan. He continued his musical studies at EMI in London, where he also performed. His repertoire includes performances with the Philharmonic Orchestra in London as well as personal solo guitar performances.Shir is not only a performer, but an accomplished composer and producer of his own work as well as other performers. He has co-produced a newly released CD, entitled 'Picture Me', by the performer 'Rebecca', which is also available on CD BABY. All of the musical arrangement, composition and production were done entirely by Shir, under NTS, his production company. He also instructs on many subjects, including composition, harmony, theory, vocal and guitar. He has authored and published musical instruction textbooks, including 'Flow with the Guitar', volumes 1 & 2 and 'Guitar Theory'. In addition, Shir Nash writes, arranges and produces music for both the British Broadcasting Company (BBC) in London and for Israeli television programming. He also composes, arranges and records songs for the American Singer, Rebecca ( rebeccajmusic ) and the Israeli Singer, Shira Lev ( myspace /shiralevmusic).
