Both Sides Of An Evening/Instant Party album for sale Product Description
Both Sides Of An Evening/Instant Party album for sale by Everly Brothers was released Aug 28, 2001 on the Warner Bros. label. This two-fer CD includes the entirety of two of the Everly Brothers' early albums for Warner Brothers Records, 1961's BOTH SIDES OF AN EVENING and 1962's INSTANT PARTY. The two-LP-on-one-CD Both Sides of an Evening/Instant Party doesn't have nearly the level of interest of its companion volume (It's Everly Time/A Date With the Everly Brothers), and it is definitely not the place to start hearing the Everly Brothers' Warner Bros. H-Blockx Fly Eyes CD (1999)
Both Sides Of An Evening/Instant Party songs Fly Eyes, the American debut album (and third overall) for the German metal band H-Blockx, is an odd blend of funky rap-metal (think Red Hot Chili Peppers as much as Korn) with traditional melodic metal, even featuring an '80s-style power ballad on occasion. It's not as awkward as it sounds, since the group has had several albums to master their style, and while it is aggressive, it isn't cartoonishly testosterone overloaded. That said, it may not be quite heavy enough for some '90s metal fans, but others may find it much to their liking. ~ Steve Huey

My Bloody Valentine Isn't Anything CD (1988)
Both Sides Of An Evening/Instant Party buy CD music From its very first moments, My Bloody Valentine's ISN'T ANYTHING announces a musical revolution--the rough, insistent snare hits are joined by scalar bass runs, finally uniting and pausing to give way to a barely recognizable guitar swirl and up-close, unproduced vocals as a new form is born. The album's inimitable sonic collages sought to marry the brash experimentation and punk ethic of Sonic Youth with more pop-oriented production values and songcraft. Mastermind Kevin Shields's somewhat more streamlined European update on the noise-rock ethic may carry an intimidating sonic swagger, but beneath there beats the heart of a musical unit firmly grounded in pop.
The open-ended sonic stir and dreamy vocal of "Lose My Breath" create a swirling atmosphere, held aloft by a single, plodding acoustic guitar. This kaleidoscopic intensity reaches its apex in the stirring drama of "No More Sorry," a tightly-wound tune that pitches like a ship in a storm, battered by waves of harsh, unforgiving guitar textures. The brash, pounding punk ideal is embraced most obviously on "(When You Awake) You're Still In A Dream" and "Feed Me With Your Kiss."

K-THE-I??? Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow CD (2008)
Both Sides Of An Evening/Instant Party CD music While K-the-I???'s prior record Broken Love Letter, was a clutter of convoluted poetry aimed at Kiki's significant other turned ex, Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow continues to be an introspective affair, as his abstract rhymes switch from the topics of love and loss to futurism and technology. Entirely produced by Thavius Beck -- the man behind the curtain on tracks by Trent Reznor, Nas, and Saul Williams -- the industrial sonics are fitting for the underlying theme. Soft synths and drum loops are stretched and pitched with computer plug-ins to the point of stuttering, while the burly bearded rapper shows off his Cambridge credentials by spitting high-brow vocabulary at a mile-a-minute rate, creating run-on lyrics that could be interpreted as insightful if they weren't so terribly cryptic. "Cell-Shaded/Daydreams/Nightmares" starts straight away with "You play laser tag with sudden envelopes and Candid Camera's cantaloupe/frontal lobe microbes until it's dissolved/rework angles to evolve status/cleansing to the riddle of the puzzle solved/My timeframe nameless as it seems with no direction/I recall telephones to teleport your optimized cell-shaded nightmares." Fortunately guest MCs Nocando, Vyle, Subtitle, High Priest, Mestizo, Busdriver, and the producer himself, Thavius Beck, take turns chiming in, each with their unique styles, to reel in the 28-year-old's flow before his rampant trip into his mind's eye becomes more of an exhausting experience than simply a messy one. As it stands, his skills don't quite match up with his peers on the Mush roster yet, which includes Labtekwon and Aesop Rock, but he takes the cake as a unique visionary with a boundless imagination. Fans of esoteric underground rap should take notice. Worth investigating. ~ Jason Lymangrover
Personnel: Thavius Beck (vocals).

Louie Cruz Beltran It's My Time CD (2006)
Both Sides Of An Evening/Instant Party album for sale Louie Cruz Beltran was born in Bakersfield, California and now resides in Los Angeles. He has crafted a musical career upon the soulful sounds of his ethnic background and flavored it with contemporary R&B, Jazz, Latin Jazz and Salsa. Steeped in music from early childhood, Beltran's first memories recall his mother singing gospel music, Mexican and Caribbean folk tunes. As early as the third grade, Beltran was playing bongos and learning the guitar.
The early recordings of artists such as Ray Barretto, Mongo Santamaria, Tito Puente, Ray Armando, Poncho Sanchez, Francisco Aquabella and Jorge Claudio sparked Louie's interest. Captivated by the Afro-Cuban and Puerto Rican rhythms of these artists, he chose to pursue the art of percussion, specializing in the timbales, congas, bongos and Bata. "The beauty of Afro-Cuban music stole my heart," Beltran said. "I was born to play congas. I am a rumbero." It has been an honor for him to have shared the stage with most of these great artists.
During a trip to the Bay Area, Louie had the honor of meeting the legendary Coke Escovedo who was impressed by Beltran's charisma, enthusiasm and talent. Escovedo became one of Beltran's early professional mentors, inviting the young musician to perform with him on a number of occasions and encouraging him to pursue his goals.
Years later, fate would re-connect Beltran to the Escovedo family when he met and performed with Coke's brother, Pete Escovedo, at a memorial benefit for a mutual friend. Since then, Louie and Pete have shared the stage on a number of occasions and developed a deep respect for one another.
In 1978 Beltran joined the group Starrfire - an R&B/Latin Jazz ensemble - and toured throughout the United States, Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East and Africa.
In 1990 he was honored with the placement of his composition "Pan Con Dignidad (Bread with Dignity)" in the compilation series "Who's Who of Composers."
In addition to performing regularly at popular venues such as Catalina Jazz Club and the Ford Amphitheatre in Hollywood, the Louie Cruz Beltran Latin Jazz/Salsa Orchestra has headlined many music festivals throughout the West Coast including the Beverly Hills and Pasadena Playboy Jazz Festivals. He also had a guest appearance with Santana at the Gibson (Universal) Amphitheatre and headlined Santana's VIP show. His recent tours have taken him to the Boulders Resort's El Pedregal in Scottsdale,Arizona as well as the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas. He welcomed in the New Year at the venerable Peninsula Hotel Beverly Hills with a standing room only performance to exceptional acclaim and will be back there next year by popular demand.
While showcasing his music at popular venues regularly, Louie continues to work as a composer, recording artist and instructor.

Fahir Atakoglu Faces & Places CD (2010)
Both Sides Of An Evening/Instant Party CD music Turkish-born pianist Fahir Atakoglu has moved to the U.S. - Maryland in particular -- to continue his vision quest for musical knowledge that sees few boundaries ahead. Past recordings have seen him in symphonic and cinematic formats, with contemporary or funky rhythm mates, and the best modern musicians to challenge and elevate his already virtuosic playing. In the case of Faces & Places, all those elements are present at once, helped along by a string ensemble, some tasteful synthesizer garnishes, and the presence of heavyweights like Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, John Patitucci, and his regular drummer, the fabulous Horatio "El Negro" Hernandez. Where Atakoglu's music always has the dune sand and sun eroticism of his homeland, here it also incorporates Brazilian sounds, beats stemming from American rhythm & blues, and a soothing orchestral undercoating not at all obtrusive like some of the syrupy CTI recordings of the '70s. It's fun to hear the pianist and Brecker dig into the slashing "N.Y.-Retrospective" with all of the vigor of Seventh Avenue South skunk funk halcyon days, and in a similar mode via 7/8 time for "Seven," with Patitucci's bass and Wayne Krantz's distorted guitar setting the pace and tone respectively. Then there's the active Middle Eastern funk of "High Street," the beautiful combination of cascading Turkish mysticism and luscious samba during "Faces" in 14/8 with voices, strings, and Mintzer's sax, or how Rene Toledo's flamenco guitar is blended into the busy "Mediterranean" in a facade not so unlike that of Chick Corea's music. Atakoglu's exceptional hyper piano during "Rio Da Noite" is again situated as a juxtaposition versus Romero Lubambo's tropical guitar, while synthesizers and string convene for "...And Places," easily the most melancholy track. But hopefully romantic, the leader, Mintzer, and the string quintet evoke passionate lovemaking on "Your Face," universally at the heart of Atakoglu's themes. It is that inherently lustful quality balanced with good common sense and spectacular musicianship that identifies Faces & Places as a pure personal statement, and a continuing novel with the diversity Fahir Atakoglu has always enjoyed. It's a beautiful statement of contemporary jazz from top to bottom, deserving of high accolades, and anyone's high recommendation. ~ Michael G. Nastos

Arranger: Fahir Atakoglu.

Truman Rev. Goines It Can't Hurt to Ask CD (2007)
Both Sides Of An Evening/Instant Party buy CD music Rev. Truman Goines (revtrumangoines )is known as the Sourland Troubadour writing and singing times about the mysterious mountain area in central New Jersey called the Sourland mountain Region. The tunes reflect the convergence of styles from southern piedmont to New York folk and jazz, and Philadelphia soul: a true New Jersey sound. Known for his work as Seth Andrews with an urban piano nod, to his work with Jr. Bliggins on harmonica, his music is as unique as his sweet and crunchy voice that sends shivers of joy down your spine.
The songs flirt with traditional upbeat folk gospel, ragtime runabout, blues magooism, romantically ambivalent nugatory, the funk of down home soul and the weep of jazz.
Goines takes us down a late night romp, through the streets and alleyways of a forgotten America ... a sigh, a laugh, a whisper, a doodley doo...

This Is 1990 CD (1983)
Both Sides Of An Evening/Instant Party album for sale On REMAIN IN LIGHT, the Heads fused their twitchy, intellectual geek-rock sensibilities with an organic, spiritual funkiness that catapulted them into a new artistic realm, virtually unfettered by the shackles of their "new wave" past. SPEAKING IN TONGUES picks up where that album left off, expanding on the band's newfound funk aesthetic and even upping the danceability quotient a notch or two. The Heads let their hair down a bit more here than on REMAIN IN LIGHT, but while the tone is a bit less serious (as on the party-starting "Burning Down The House,") the highly developed conceptual sensibilites of Byrne and company are still at work, even without the assistance of former producer Brian Eno.
Some of the previous album's airy abstractions are stripped away here, to make more room on the dance floor. Tunes like "Girlfriend is Better" attack both the feet and the mind, in typically quirky Talking Heads style. "This Must Be the Place/Naive Melody" stands out as a pretty, affecting ballad about finding a sense of belonging (it's melodic charms were so pervasive it was eventually covered by folk-rocker Shawn Colvin).
Talking Heads: David Byrne (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, percussion); Tina Weymouth (guitar, keyboards, bass, background vocals); Jerry Harrison (guitar, keyboards, background vocals); Chris Frantz (drums, keyboards, background vocals).
Additional personnel: Alex Weir (guitar); Shankar (violin); Richard Landry (saxophone); Wally Badarou, Bernie Worrell (synthesizer); Steve Scales, David Van Tieghem (percussion); Dolette MacDonald, Nona Hendryx (background vocals).
