Soul Love, Vol. 3 CD (2001)
R&B Hip Hop Disc Guide 1990-2000 Presents Peace For The Love Of Soul buy CD music The Soul Love series of albums feature some of the classic soul era's best moments, emphasizing songs about love. There's a nice sense of diversity among the featured performers and songs. There's not an abundance of Motown songs like you might expect, and there are quite a few lively songs featured that might surprise you. For the most part, though, the featured songs are love ballads. Some of the noteworthy songs on this volume include Sam & Dave's "Soul Man," the Temptations' "My Girl," and Betty Everett's "Shoop Shoop Song." Released by the U.K.-based Dressed to Kill label. ~ Jason Birchmeier

Jerseyband Live: Lung Punch Fantasy CD (2007)
R&B Hip Hop Disc Guide 1990-2000 Presents Peace For The Love Of Soul CD music Metroland, Albany, NYMetroland transcript:October 6, 2005
Don't judge a book by its cover: Despite Jerseyband's being fronted by four horn players, they're more metal than you'll ever be. (That wasn't a pun.
) Neither an average jazz group, nor a run-of-the-mill metal outfit, the seven-piece Jerseyband have stumbled onto a style all their own-they call it "lungcore". With all our combined editorial experience here at Metroland, we would be hard-pressed to come up with a more accurate description. Imagine a head-on collision of the tour buses carrying Dillinger Escape Plan and the Count Basie Orchestra. That sound-the skronk and squeal made at the instant when metal intertwines with metal-is the essence of the Jerseyband experience, a melange of detuned electric guitars, crashing drums, and a seemingly traditional jazz-ensemble frontline. It's totally rad, and totally loud. Bring earplugs. You'll thank us later.

Space Raiders Don't Be Daft CD (1999)
R&B Hip Hop Disc Guide 1990-2000 Presents Peace For The Love Of Soul album for sale Space Raiders' Don't Be Daft was released at the very nadir of big beat, long after much of the dance community had moved on, and the music press ripped the album to shreds, acting like vicious aesthetic jackals circling in for the kill. But it survives on its own merits after a bit of distance. "(I Need The) Disko Doktor" and "Glam Raid" remain sturdy examples of electro-stuttering frivolity, and when it came down to it, listeners accepted the fact that if the band wanted to sketch out what it would be like if a graphic calculator were to seduce a troll, they had every right to tackle it with as much clever initiative at their disposal. Nobody had asked for an LP of hillbilly big beat, but that's the exact reason why Don't Be Daft succeeds, iconoclastic in its own maligned traditions. ~ Dean Carlson
Space Raiders: Mark, Martin, Gary.
