Tadpoles, based in Hoboken, NJ, disbanded in 2000 after releasing 4 critically acclaimed studio albums, 1 live album and 1 E.P. all on their own Bakery Records label (except for their last studio album, Whirlaway, which was released on Australia's Camera Obscura Records.) The group was formed by vocalist/guitarist, Todd Parker and original drummer, Michael Kite Audino in New York City in 1990.Members of the New York group, HIT, bassist David Max & guitarist/vocalist Nick Kramer joined in 1992 and Adam Boyette became the full time drummer in 1996.Career highlights include a four-star review in Rolling Stone magazine (May 1996) for their second studio album, Far Out, which like all of their studio albums (except Whirlaway) was produced by Shimmy Disc/Bongwater mogul, Kramer. The group was also featured in the first Terrastock festival in Providence, Rhode Island in 1997 and their performance was captured on their live album "Destroy Terrastock-Live." Although Tadpoles rarely performed live, their shows were always a multi-media sensory overload experience with films, videos, strobe lights, and other homemade visual effects. The band toured the West Coast in 1997 with Boston's Cul de Sac and Windy & Carl (as well as the late legendary John Fahey on one date.) Since Tadpoles disbanded, David, Nick & Adam have reformed HIT and Todd Parker continues to operate Bakery Records in Hoboken. For complete bio, reviews and more information, check out the Tadpoles web site at www.tadpoles.com or check out their entry on www.allmusic.comDESTROY TERRASTOCK-LIVE : DescriptionTadpoles' complete live set from the now legendary 1997 first Terrastock festival in Providence, Rhode Island. Jersey Beat, Fall '98 #63"classically psychedelic and well worth checking out, especially if your idea of a fun night out relies heavily on chemicals." Flipside, July/Aug 1998"Simple elegance that's almost gothy; it's hard not to get caught up in the splendor; a beautfully melancholic journey...I wished I could've been there.." Destroy Terrastock album
$11.18 With Adam Lambert, American Idol finally got a finalist who was completely, utterly contemporary, aware of what's hip in music and culture and aware of how music is made and consumed in 2009, never seeming to try to follow fads or set trends, just embodying the time. Mercifully, he came in second to Kris Allen, for if he came in first he may have had to tame his self-styled glamazon ways. A second place finish allowed Lambert to come out of the closet and indulge in his penchant for theater on his debut, For Your Entertainment -- which isn't quite the same thing as camp, ...

Destroy Terrastock CD music
$9.59 "John Tumminello has crafted one of the finest debut albums I have heard in a very long time. Filled with great songwriting, beautiful ballads and driving rockers, "Eventually" is the one album every serious music fan should have in their collection!" - Pat Wolfe, KDHX, St. Louis-Includes the Billboard awarding winning song "Here I Am" and the Top 10 Americana track "Still Crazy (In Love With You)"------------------Try it out if you like: Springsteen, Petty, The Replacements, Westerberg, Mellencamp, Train, Matchbox 20, John Mayer, Bob Dylan, Cars, Squeeze, Wallflowers, Jack Johnson, Pete Yorn or Tom Waits. ---------------"I've been trying to write a review of John Tumminello's Eventually for some time and have found it to be a remarkably difficult thing to accomplish. The short version is easy: Eventually is the finest debut effort I've heard in quite some time. The long version is much more difficult because I can't quite figure out what makes this record so special. The songs are expertly crafted, to be sure. The simple two note guitar riff that builds to support the lyric of the second verse of the opening track, "Here I am" (which has one of the most infectious choruses you'll ever hear) and the vocal echo that accentuates the ending phrase of most, but not every line of those verses clearly demonstrate that Tummunello knows what he is doing. But the skillful use of compositional devices is not unique and doesn't, by itself make for a great record. Tumminello's lyrics are insightful and poignant: "In this life you cannot choose who you'll love and who you'll lose," but insight isn't all that uncommon among songwriters. It may be that the songs, as well as Tumminello's voice, are completely original and yet vaguely familiar. It has been said that the work of an artist is the sum of his influences. If that's true, Tumminello has been influenced by every great song and every great band of the last forty years. On first listen, I was subtely reminded of many of my favorite artists. Subsequent hearings have merely added to that list. Eventually is a remarkable record, ...
