Beanie Sigel, Damon Dash, Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, Omillio Sparks, Sundy Carter - Director: Abdul Malik Abbott Frustrated with being broke, Beans decides that the only way to grasp the American Dream is to take it. "State Property" follows Beans and his crew, the ABM, as they take over the city, creating mayhem as their empire builds. Beans now struggles to maintain his family life while bumping heads with opposing gangsters and police. It all comes to a head when he cannot surpass the city's most notorious crew. The moves Beans and the ABM decide to make come with severe consequences. Rapper Memphis Bleek and his Roc-A-Fella crew star in this gritty urban crime drama based on actual events. Determined to make big cash, local Philly thug Beans (Beanie Siegel) forms a gang he dubs the A.B.M. (All 'Bout Money) and declares that all his rivals better "get down or lay down." Bleek, Jay-Z, Omillio Sparks, Freeway, and Damon Dash are some of his friends and enemies along the way. Beans earns plenty of cash, and a nice home in the suburbs for his family, but like all movie gangsters he doesn't know when to quit. The body count rises, his old lady (Sundy Carter) gets kidnapped, and incarceration threatens when a surviving victim decides to rat Beans out to the cops.
First-time director Abdul Malik Abbot smartly eschews any morality, romance or phony glamour in favor of a practical, no-nonsense, sex-and-violence approach. The film's real strength, however, is the naturalistic performances of the actors and their ease with the quotable, expletive-rich dialogue. STATE PROPERTY should delight viewers schooled in rap music and gangster films, but others may find themselves needing subtitles to decipher the thick slang. It's filmed on digital video, blown up to 35mm for theatrical release. Theatrical Release: JANUARY 18, 2002 (NY/LA)
This is the only Dee Lee video. Stars also making their debut in this video: Chris Eric Williams, Abdul Malik Abbott. State Property Movie Review Average Rating: (3.9 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Hood-Classic The first STATE PROP is on the edge of classic, to bad DAME became loony and decided to direct the sequel himself.
But this movie is good however, it has JAY-Z in a small but really funny part.
The lead is strongly held by BEANIE SIGEL who's just an angry bastard who doesn't really have any respect for anyone, obviously inspired by SCARFACE but it's all good.
If you need a Good Guy to root for it's the wrong movie to get, couse everybody is disrespectful towards everybody.
But if you like gangsta-movies than this is a very good choice. Submitted by J-Dog (Bedstuy) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.

Hard It they would not curse so much, it would have been really good. But it was nice... Submitted by mrjlwms28 (New Jersey...) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Roc-A-Fella is on top basically Roc-A-Fella owns the media, the got music, movies, alcohol, the club scene, and shoes on lock. This movie is so fly, Beans is straight up gangsta. He runs things in the hood until he gets taken out. It's a basic movie about pushing weight but the Roc holds it down with ill camera shots and crazy cameos by Damon Dash and Jay-Z (the latter of the two having probably the funniest role in the whole movie). Check it out son! Submitted by buckshotstheone (Boston, MA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$10.29 Set in the early 1980s, this entry in the African-American urban gangster genre puts character development in the front seat for a change as it rolls through the Harlem streets on its usual rise-and-fall route. Ace (Wood Harris) starts out a laundry delivery guy, but thanks to a chance encounter with a Latin coke dealer (Esai Morales), he quickly works his way to the top of a drug empire. Mitch (Mekhi Phifer) is his more extroverted, colorful pal, the "born hustler" whose bravado hides a tragic family life. For a while the money just keeps rolling in and everyone's happy, but then comes the inevitable turn to tragedy, heralded by the arrival of the brash, trigger-happy ...

$13.15 Enter the Jacka. The death of 2Pac in the mid 90's ripped the heart out of West Coast Hip Hop. At the same time a young street poet named the Jacka was honing his skills in the Bay Area Rap game. Always open minded, he was influenced by b-boys and thugs, pimps and Imams. The Jacka has since developed into an established, well-rounded, well-versed emcee in the right place to bring the West Coast some serious attention. The Jacka's music is a reflection of his life. He witnessed the birth of the dope game and the drug war that followed, as the battle was waged in his community, on his block, and in his house. Memories of departed loved ones haunt his mind and soul. His release is to share his experiences through his music. Reality hurts. Rap is the Jacka's medicine. That and some purple. Jacka's success proves his mettle as an emcee. He has been featured on over 50 albums over the past six years. His contributions to the Mob Figaz self-entitled album resulted in over 100,000 units sold. His tour with Yukmouth (of the Luniz), C-Bo, the Mob Figaz, and Tech 9ne exposed him to nationwide notoriety. His first solo release (featuring Too $hort, Cormega, Christion, and Yukmouth) in 2002 sold over 30,000 units. Jacka sold these units himself, in the Bay Area and through shipping to one-stops across the country. Though great support came from the Bay Area, sixty percent of Jacka's sales came from outside of California. The Jacka's upcoming album, The Jack Artist, is sure to satisfy his fans and impress new ...

State Property movie DVD
$10.05 This is thug filmmaking at its best courtesy of Damon Dash and his Roc-A-Fella crew, with Dash directing, writing, and co-starring as a "cakeaholic" (money addict) on the quest for international greatness in the Philadelphia drug-dealing biz. Beans (Beanie Sigel) is his main competition, but he's in jail for crimes perpetrated in the first film (ironically, Sigel himself went to jail for gun-related offences after shooting of the film was completed). Fellow inmate Loco (N.O.R.E.) promises to get Beans sprung and hook him up with some "kingpin paper" and a "sweet connect." Viewers who don't know this means money and a drug supplier may be a bit baffled by the film's Philly slang-enriched dialogue, but Beans' narration fills in a lot of the gaps. Another plus, there is a plethora of guest stars like Kayne West, Freeway, Mariah Carey, Sade, Ole Dirty Bastard, and Jimmy "Handyman" Jones. A fast-paced, ...

$7.05 In writer-director Kerry Conran's debut film, ace pilot Joe "Sky Captain" Sullivan (Jude Law) reluctantly teams up with his former flame, journalist Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow), to uncover the mystery behind a group of missing scientists and a series of shocking robot attacks. Aided by gadgetry whiz Dex Dearborn (Giovanni Ribisi) and enigmatic military commander Franky Cook (Angelina Jolie), Joe and Polly must find out who is responsible for an increasingly elaborate scheme that may trigger the end of the world.
A highly stylized, mostly computer-generated spectacle, SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW is a striking cinematic achievement. Steeped in the marvelous visuals of 1930s pop culture, Conran's movie is a loving tribute to that era, featuring clever nods to FLASH GORDON, ...
