$11.49 Picture a world where each and every French dance band was unflinchingly bad; where every Air or Cassius or even Phoenix never existed since every homegrown, starving musician looked to somebody like ATB instead ...

Slipstream To The Divine music CDs
$11.39 On THE CROSS OF CHANGES, Enigma delves into the mystic with a musical fervor that transcends sampling technologies and popular dance beats. THE CROSS OF CHANGES is a serene yet supremely sensual musical synthesis that might best be characterized as new age hip-hop. Enigma's worldwide hit MCMXC A.D. was notable for, among other things, its use of Gregorian chants as samples in a heady techno mix, which ...

Slipstream To The Divine album
$13.95 For part of Air's POCKET SYMPHONY tour, JB Dunckel and Nicolas Godin played shows with only drummer Joey Waronker as support, forcing the band to strip their songs down to their essences. They stick with that lineup on LOVE 2, which delivers some of the most Air-like music to the band's name, and with good reason: This is the first time Dunckel and Godin have produced their own album. The duo tends to follow their more ambitious work with more accessible material and LOVE 2 is no exception, replacing POCKET SYMPHONY's exotic, experimental bent with a renewed emphasis on their quintessential sound. Godin and Dunckel dig deep into their arsenal of vintage electronic gear, topping those burbles, buzzes ...

| | Christy Moore King Puck CD (1993)
Slipstream To The Divine album
$12.79 King Puck is a pleasantly mellow Irish folk record. It was apparently recorded as a result of a collaboration between Christy Moore and the ubiquitous Irish music guru Donal Lunny. Moore explains in the liner notes that "during 1992 Donal Lunny and I initiated arrangements on a large body of songs. Some of the notes we played and some of the ideas we had are to be found on this album." The conceptual ...

Slipstream To The Divine songs
$18.59 In the manner of many second albums, Fat Mattress' sophomore outing was similar to, but also inferior to, their debut. Again, Noel Redding didn't take as much as a leadership role as some listeners might have expected given his prior stardom as bassist in the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In fact, he's less of a presence on this record, at least as a composer, his contributions in that regard limited to three songwriting co-credits. And again, the mood is breezy folk-rock-psychedelia with a dash of early progressive rock, though some of the songs on side one in particular have a heavier feel than most of the first album. The songs aren't even up to the debut's modest standard, however, and the lingering feeling is that of a tolerable but fairly anonymous '60s-turning-into-'70s band with a Transatlantic feel. There's a bit of ...
