Laugh.com takes most of the tracks from John Valby's self-released Digital Dirt collection and gives the filthy piano man his widest exposure ever. Taking familiar tunes and adding dirty lyrics to them is John Valby's thing, and Greatest Tits contains his most popular songs. Since Valby's shows are ribald singalongs, where fans get to belt out the X-rated lyrics loudly, Greatest Tits is the perfect preparation for your first show. "Roll Your Leg Over," "Who Gives a F**K," and the classic "Skeeter," (he rhymes it with "peter" if that helps you figure it out) are all concert staples. Despite being vulgar and gleefully juvenile, the lyrics are frequently witty and Valby is a drop-dead, fantastic boogie-woogie piano player. Only hardcore fans will need another CD from the rascal, and if you buy one and take it to the show, Valby always sticks around to autograph them. What a sweet, filthy guy! ~ David Jeffries

John Valby albums are so hard to tell apart because they're usually live and if you've bought more than one you're not doubt overlapping some of his popular tunes ("Eat Bite" or "Ya Ya," for example). American Troubadour is at least unique in that a wealth of the material is drawn from Valby's hatred of Osama Bin Laden and his followers. Well maybe not just his followers, but anyone who lives in Afghanistan, or Iran, or Iraq, and so on. Doubtful anyone has ever mistaken the foul-mouthed piano player for Pete Seeger (or for that matter, a humanist), but you've got to marvel at how Valby can string together so many hateful words and his boogie-woogie piano playing is still strong. ...

Allen Fredrick is a dynamic vocalist, as well as guitarist, keyboardist and harmonica player whose style is rooted in Blues, Rock, Jazz and R&B. He holds a Bachelor Degree from Indiana University where he studied Jazz improvisation from renowned trombonist David Baker and composition from composers John Eaton and Iannis Xenakis. While in Indiana he studied voice with Helen Tyner and guitar from now deceased jazz guitarist Maestro Paolo. Upon relocating to California he studied piano from Duke Ellington arranger Allaudin Mathieu and from jazz pianist Si Perkoff. He took on a faculty position at Family Light Music School where he taught seminars and workshops in addition to classes and private lessons in music theory, improvisation and keyboard technique. He was keyboardist and singer for the Hoodoo Rhythm Devils for two years where he played many club and concert dates in the San Francisco Bay area. He then joined Maria Muldaur as musical director, keyboardist and singer. He performed with Maria for five years touring throughout Europe, the U.S. and Canada. He was Harmonica player for famed bluesmen Yank Rachel (She Caught the KATY) and Sleepy John Estes (Diving Duck Blues). He has also performed with Paul Butterfield, Bonnie Raitt, Elvin Bishop, Dan Hicks, The Shirelles, and The Drifters. He has extensive live performance experience, having played internationally for large concerts, showcase clubs and television, including the David Letterman show. He recently returned from Central America where he worked in a world class recording studio as a producer, engineer, singer and voice-over artist for television and radio commercials. Though Charles Wilson has been a regular on the Chicago soul scene since the mid '60s, waxing a series of obscure but outstanding singles and opening for legends like Tyrone Davis and Bobby Bland, he didn't succeed in gaining the attention of a wider audience until the early '90s. In 2004 he released IF HEARTACHES WERE NICKELS, a hard driving collection of deep soul, on the venerable Delmark label.
