Cannibal Ox and Company Flow may have played a more visible role in the Def Jux label's rise to critically acclaimed status in the early 2000s, but Aesop Rock also garnered a considerable amount of attention for the alt-rap label. He collaborates with producer Blockhead here, though Cannibal Ox fans will be happy to know that El-P produces one of this EP's tracks, "Nickel Plated Pockets." But for the most part, this EP is a showcase for Blockhead and Aesop. The two lay down quite a few tracks that are on a par with those found on Aesop's preceding full-length, Labor Days, making this EP a wonderful follow-up that should interest fans of the Def Jux establishment. ~ Jason Birchmeier

Aesop Rock Daylight Songs Daylight Music Review Average Rating: (3.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews title track Literally the title track alone is worth the price of the CD. Honestly I believe that song is the epitome of hip-hop. hell the first thirty seconds of Daylight is worth twice the CD. an absolutely amazing album. His incredibly complex lyrical content of that song blows me away every time. I've listened to it easily 100 times this week and I can barely interpret 1/4 of it and that 1/4 still blows me away. I'm constantly analyzing this song and I love it every time. Submitted by egotwistical (Los Angeles, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 2 found this helpful.

This release should have never 'SEEN DAYLIGHT'...
Another boring album from our favorite boring emcee Aesop Rock. This gets two stars from me, one because it's wack, the 2nd star is for Blockhead who is pretty dope and innovative. Otherwise, skip this garbage. Buy real hip hop. Submitted by Culture (Queens, NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 2 found this helpful.
awesome Of course music is totally subjective and not everyone is going to like Aesop, but I love his beats and what he has to say. His style is completely original and he is the only one that can do it like he does. Also the hidden track at the end of maintenance is awesome. Fresh Daylight Daylight was and still is one of the most intense CDs from the Def Jux group. The songs are meant to be listened more than once, and the more you hear them, the more you can relate to the subject. Another great feature is that Aesop Rock leaves plenty of room for the crowd to interpret his lyrics. People with brains will appreciate this album just like his others. $8.59 This Definitive Jux release contains an 88-page booklet, "The Living Human Curiosity Sideshow," which presents the lyrics from five Aesop Rock releases (FLOAT, LABOR DAYS, DAYLIGHT, BAZOOKA TOOTH, and FAST CARS...) in all their giddily impenetrable glory.
Aesop Rock's follow-up EP to 2003's BAZOOKA TOOTH finds the deliriously inventive New York City MC delivering another batch of top-notch material. One of hip-hop's most distinct voices, Aesop spits out a never-ending stream of difficult-to-decipher lyrics in a bass-heavy voice that suggests the rumble of an approaching subway train.

$19.25 In the late 80's and 90's, Californian born Paul Sabu was a welcome guest at many writing and recording session of other artists. He has written, recorded, performed with, or produced albums for such luminaries as David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Little Caesar, Lee Aaron, Madonna, Malice, Robbie Neville, Silent Rage, The Nelsons, Shania Twain, John Waite and Wasp can be counted. He has an arsenal of movie and TV series soundtrack credits which include Accused, American Drive-In, Assault Of The Killer Bimbos, Baywatch, Beverly Hills 90210, Diving In, Ghost Town, Goulies II, Hard Rock Zombies, Meatballs 4, Million Dollar Mystery, Sex And The City, To Die For, Trick Or Treat, Twin Sitters, Vice Versa, Natural Born Killer, and the list goes on. Paul started his recording career at only 19 and was notorious for sneaking into any local clubs and bars that would let him sit in or plug in his guitar! His own musical vehicles were the Sabu and Only Child bands with which he recorded albums that were described as big sounding, with lots of depth, fat keyboards, blistering guitars and vocals, combined with great choruses. It is no small wonder that he was the darling of several Melodic Rock magazines, who dubbed him 'L.A. Session King' and 'AOR Hero'! His albums are still much sought-after items among AOR lovers, and his reputation as an AOR hero still holds today. For example, in Kerrang's poll from November 14, 2005...Paul Sabu ranked 2 of the greatest AOR albums of all times! After collaborating with Paul Sabu on some recent albums, it became obvious to German producer Michael Voss that a new Sabu album should be initiated.Sabu's latest is entitled 'Strange Messiah'. Paul Sabu (Shania Twain, Alice Cooper, Madonna) is surrounded by a bunch of great musicians and friends who played as if the band were their own taking Sabu's songs to a stellar level. This all-star line up is Matthias Rethmann (b, Lee Z), Gereon Homann (dr. , Eat the Gun), Michael Voss (add. guit. , ...
