Cross My Heart
He's no longer high-profile, but he's still making great music for anyone who takes the time for listen. This satisfying and complete set of his top hits from the 80's is a textbook example of great easy listening rock.

Very Best of Christopher Cross buy CD music THE VERY BEST OF includes a 46-page booklet with pictures and track information. "Hole In The World" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. The Eagles' founders Don Henley and Glenn Frey were forthright in their desire to bring then-emerging country rock to new heights of commercial success. Formed in Los Angeles in 1971, they learned from their observations of the scene around them, and subsequently took their music to the top of the charts. They stayed there throughout the '70s, becoming synonymous with the sound of Southern California rock. The band's first hit was with a song by Jackson Browne, and their first album also included a cover of "Ol' 55" by Tom Waits, but the bulk of the material they're known for was penned by Henley and Frey. This two-disc set wisely expands the original VERY BEST OF collection with important album tracks that have also long been band staples and favorites (such as the aforementioned Waits tune and a number of other songs from their pre-platinum first three releases). As is often the common industry-wide practice, there's also a new song, "Hole in the World." A 2-CD retrospective from the multiplatinum superstars whose 1976 "Greatest Hits" is the #1 album of all time! Special Limited Edition bonus DVD included with a music video, outtakes from the video and backstage pass to Farewell 1. Initial pressings included a bonus DVD. Recorded between 1972 & 2003. The Eagles: Bernie Leadon (vocals, guitar, slide guitar, pedal steel guitar, banjo, mandolin); Don Felder (vocals, guitar, slide guitar, steel guitar, keyboards); Glen Frey, Joe Walsh (vocals, guitar, slide guitar, keyboards); Randy Meisner (vocals, guitar, guitarron, bass); Don Henley (vocals, drums, percussion); Timothy B. Schmit (vocals, bass). Producers: Glyn Johns, Bill Szymczyk, Eagles, Elliot Scheiner, Rob Jacobs. Compilation producer: The Eagles. Eagles: Don Felder (vocals, guitars, slide guitar, steel guitar, keyboards); Bernie Leadon (vocals, guitars, slide guitar, pedal steel guitar, banjo, mandolin); Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh (vocals, guitars, slide guitar, keyboards); Randy Meisner (vocals, guitarron, bass guitar); Timothy B. Additional personnel: Steuart Smith (electric guitar); Al Perkins (pedal steel guitar); David Sanborn (alto saxophone); Jim Ed Norman, Willie Hollis (piano); Jay Oliver (keyboards); Scott Crago (drums, percussion).

Very Best of Christopher Cross CD music Initial pressings of this first edition contain a bonus disc. Recorded between 1970 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Paul Gambaccini. Greatest Hits 1970-2002 is a nearly flawless double-disc set commemorating Elton John's three-decade career. Disc one features what may arguably be John's most essential work: Seeing songs such as "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Candle in the Wind," and "Bennie and the Jets" -- not to mention "Your Song," "Rocket Man," and "Tiny Dancer" -- lined up back to back reaffirms just how diverse, and yet universal, his songwriting talent is. Disc two finds this talent maturing gracefully into the '80s, '90s, and beyond, touching on pop gems like "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "I'm Still Standing," and "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" as well as his Lion King classic "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and the Aida duet "Written in the Stars" with LeAnn Rimes. The collection also finds room for the highlights of his most recent albums, including Made in England's "Believe" and "Blessed," The Big Picture's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Songs from the West Coast's "This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore." For most casual fans, Greatest Hits 1970-2002 will replace the need for collections such as Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits, Vol. 2, and Greatest Hits, Vol. 3, although these collections are still worthwhile as of-their-time retrospectives of John's work. ~ Heather Phares All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Very Best of Christopher Cross songs Chicago commemorates 35 years of playing together with the career-spanning 2-CD anthology ONLY THE BEGINNING. This Windy City septet started out as one of the few '60s groups aside from Blood, Sweat & Tears and The Electric Flag to fuse a full horn section with a rock band. Chicago's early hits included more aggressive fare like "25 Or 6 To 4," "Beginnings," and a scorching cover of The Spencer Davis Group's "I'm A Man," but they became known as a ballads band as the '70s progressed. AM hits like "Saturday In The Park," "Just You 'N' Me," and "Baby, What A Big Surprise" helped solidify this reputation. Despite stumbling in the late '70s and getting dropped by Columbia Records, Chicago neatly landed on its feet at Warner Brothers. Their chart assault in the '80s continued with ballads like "Hard To Say I'm Sorry/Look Away," "Hard Habit To Break," and the quintessential prom theme/wedding song "You're The Inspiration." Hits sans Peter Cetera (who left in 1985), include "Chasin' The Wind." Wrapping up this 40-song set is "Sing, Sing, Sing," a new collaboration with The Gipsy Kings. Out-of-print in the US. Subtitled - Only The Beginning. Double disc with 39 hit singles spanning Chicago's complete 35-year history. Including the #1 singles 'If You Leave Me Now,' 'Hard To Say I'm Sorry' and 'Look Away'. Booklet features detailed liner notes by Bill DeYoung. Rhino Records Includes liner notes by Bill DeYoung. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Producers include: James William Buercio, Phil Ramone, David Foster, Bruce Fairbairn, Ron Nevison. Compilation producers: Chicago, David McLees.

Very Best of Christopher Cross album for sale Principally recorded between 1972 and 1983. Includes liner notes by Barry Alfonso. Digitally remastered by Dan Hersch and Bill Inglot (DigiPrep). America defined the soft-rock sound of the '70s. They wanted to be Crosby, Stills and Nash so badly that they figured out a way to not only pull it off, but beat CSN at their own game, logging even more hit singles than their chief inspiration. THE COMPLETE GREATEST HITS, true to its title, contains all those chart-toppers, as well as some songs that may be unfamiliar to the casual listener (if you weren't paying attention at the time, it's doubtful you'd recall the band's early-'80s comeback hit "You Can do Magic," for example). While nobody's making a case for these easygoing popsters as bold innovators, even a cursory listen to this studiously compiled collection reveals a level of unassailable popcraft that places them on a par with posthumously lauded bands like Bread and the Carpenters. It's not for nothing that Beatles mentor George Martin took the boys' production reigns for a while. Though things get dicey towards the end of this chronologically arranged package, the bulk of America's '70s material is as good as commercial folk-pop gets. Additional personnel includes: Larry Klimas (saxophone); Jeffery Foskett (background vocals). Incl.2 Prev.Unrel. Tracks. 1972-1983 Producers includes: Ian Samwell, America, George Martin, Russ Ballard, Bobby Colomby. Compilation producers: America, David McLees. Very Best of Christopher Cross buy CD music Disc 1 is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Although the title is a misnomer, considering that material from Fleetwood Mac line-ups featuring earlier members including founder Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Bob Welch, and Danny Kirwan is noticeably absent, THE VERY BEST OF serves up the cream of the Buckingham/Nicks years. Rounded out by Mick Fleetwood and former paramours John and Christine McVie, this "classic" Mac line-up lasted for seven albums and created timeless material often fueled by romantic turmoil within its ranks. With Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, and Christine McVie all serving as singer-songwriters, there were plenty of hits to go around. Ably displacing 1998's GREATEST HITS package, this two-CD set features plenty of well-known radio hits starting with cuts from the Mac's 1975 self-titled smash ("Monday Morning," "Rhiannon," and "Say You Love Me") on through the live 1997 reunion album THE DANCE ("I'm So Afraid," "Big Love"). In between, the wealth of solid material boggles the mind and includes classics found on 1977's classic RUMOURS ("Go Your Own Way," "Don't Stop"), 1979's TUSK (title track, "Sara"), and 1982's MIRAGE ("Gypsy," "Hold Me"). Equally engaging are slightly more obscure cuts like "Paper Doll" and "Silver Springs" (originally found on the out-of-print box set 25 YEARS: THE CHAIN). The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac packs 2 CDs with 36 hit singles and popular album tracks spanning 1975-1997. Features the #1 'Dreams' plus the classic hits 'Over My Head,' 'Rhiannon,' 'Go Your Own Way,' 'Don't Stop,' 'You Make Loving Fun,' 'Tusk,' 'Sara,' 'Hold Me,' 'Little Lies,' the live 'Go Insane' from The Dance and 'Silver Springs' currently out of print, and much more. The CD is also enhanced with exclusive footage of Fleetwood Mac making their new 2003 album - their first studio album in 15 years! Plus the vaults - rare live performances, interviews, music videos and more. Only available on this CD. Slipcase. Reprise. 2002. Recorded between 1975 & 1992. Includes liner notes by David Wild. Fleetwood Mac: Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, John McVie, Stevie Nicks. Producers include: Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey Buckingham, Keith Olsen, Richard Dashut, Ken Caillat. Compilation producers: Fleetwood Mac, David McLees. Audio Remasterers: Dan Hersch; Bill Inglot. Liner Note Author: David Wild. Author: Sheryl Crow. Photographers: Mark Seliger; Norman Seeff; Herbert Worthington III; Sam Emerson; Neil Zlozower; Ron Slenzak. Unknown Contributor Roles: Christine McVie; Mick Fleetwood; Stevie Nicks; John McVie.
