It's more than just journalistic shorthand to refer to Kylie Minogue as the European Madonna. She's been at it as long as the Material Girl, and her mix of sexy style and dance-pop sound is very much in league with that of her American counterpart. The catch here is that, while Minogue had previously only been a star in Europe, FEVER represents her American breakthrough. Not surprisingly, the sound of FEVER will appeal to fans of Madonna's MUSIC album. It's full of bubbly synths, amiably poppy melodies, club beats and sensual vocal stylings. If anything, Minogue comes off as slightly less hard-edged than you-know-who, more concerned with immersing herself in the songs and production than in projecting her larger-than-life personality. That kind of attitude can only aid in the making of a successful pop record, which is the most accurate description of FEVER.

Kylie Delivers! This album is one long, sensual burn from start to finish, with an irresistible beat, upbeat mood, and invigorating lyrics and instrumentation! If you loved club and dance music back when it actually had a melody to groove to, then this album is for you! No techno "droning" here--it's all melody, all beat, all sexy, and ALL satisfying. She delivers with this one! Submitted by a reviewer (Chattanooga, Tennessee) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
This 'fever' runs high! If you are in the mood to groove, this cd is definitely for you. It has so much class and style...and Kylie is exquisitely beautiful to boot. Usually when I buy a cd, there are only a few songs that I listen to over and over again, skipping over the others. With 'fever' I let the whole thing run through! It's great to have Kylie back and I sincerely think she is here to stay. This is definitely worth a listen! You will be tapping your fingers on the steering wheel, singing in the shower and dancing in the living room. Everyone is right...you can't get her out of your head. Purchase Fever CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Ambrosia Anthology CD (1997)
Fever album
$6.29 For various legal reasons, no Ambrosia recordings were released on compact disc in America until 1997's Anthology, and while it's an imperfect collection, it does offer a reasonably thorough overview of the group's career. It only briefly touches on their early art rock records, choosing to concentrate instead on their early-'80s soft rock hits like "Biggest Part of Me," "You're the Only Woman," and "How Much I Feel." As a result, dedicated prog rock fans will find this collection ...

Whether you were one of the fans who feared or one of the detractors who hoped that Pink would fail to follow-up her smash debut album, M!SSUNDAZTOOD serves notice that the lady with the pink hair (yes, it still is) is more than just a one-shot flash in the pan. The grooving pop of the title-track is less hip-hop oriented than Pink's previous hits, sounding more like an amiable collision between Smash Mouth and Sugar Ray. "Don't Let Me Get Me" and "Just Like a Pill" tread even closer to pop-rock territory, the latter bearing an anthemic ...

| | Reba Mcentire Greatest Hits Vol. 2 CD (1993)
Fever music CDs
$11.49 "Does He Love You" won the 1994 Grammy Award for "Country Vocal Collaboration."
Reba McEntire, the long-time queen of country music, comes out swinging on her second greatest hits compilation. From the opening salvos of the diva battle to end all battles (the award-winning duet "Does He Love You"), McEntire leaves no vocal stone unturned. She and Linda Davis trade off the most passionate country vocals heard this year.
With the emotion level already rising to unimaginable heights, McEntire surprises by rocketing to the vocal heavens with the sweet but deadly "You Lie." She only lets the grip ease momentarily with the light-hearted "Fancy." Enjoy that breath, because it's suddenly taken away by the heart-wrenching "For My Broken Heart," the tribute to her bandmembers killed in a plane crash.
Able to extend one note into thousands, McEntire also has a way with a lyric. She often writes story-songs dealing with common-folk issues like poverty ("Fancy"). "Is There Life Out There," her be-all-that-you-can-be anthem, hit such a chord that the song has since been turned into a movie.
Heartbreak is a staple Reba theme ("They Asked About You"), as are inspirational motifs ("The Greatest Man I Ever Knew").
McEntire knows how to find the hits, and once they glide out of those golden vocal chords, she has assured their place on any greatest hits compilation.
Reba ...
