| | Scorpions Classic Bites CD - Import Scorpions Discography of CDs
Import only compilation featuring 17 tracks including, 'Wind of Change', 'Lust or Love', 'In Trance' (Live), 'Crazy World', 'No Pain No Gain', 'Lonely Nights' and many more. Universal.
Few rock bands remaining from the '70s or '80s era can still whip an arena full of metalheads into a frenzy like the Scorpions can (or still have as loyal a following, as well). This may explain why multitudinousScorps collections, anthologies, and live sets have reared their heads throughout the '90s and the early 21st century, long after the group had reached its commercial peak worldwide. One such compilation, the 2002 Euro import Classic Bites, possesses quite a misleading title, since it focuses entirely on their early-'90s period (the albums Crazy World and Face the Heat) and nothing earlier. Included is the Scorpions' last mega-hit single, the power ballad "Wind of Change" (a tribute to the falling of the Berlin Wall), as well as the anthemic rockers "Crazy World," "No Pain No Gain," and "Tease Me Please Me." Interestingly, while most veteran arena rock bands were distancing themselves from the '80s-era bombastic production popularized in the wake of Nirvana/alt-rock, the Scorpions continued to embrace the sound well into the '90s. You get the feeling that this 17-track collection is meant as a companion to 1989's Best of Rockers 'n' Ballads, but by only focusing on the aforementioned two subsequent albums, Classic Bites falls very short. For a much more thorough collection, go with 2002's superior Bad for Good: The Very Best of the Scorpions. ~ Greg Prato

While the album's title is deceiving -- all but five of the 18 tracks on this double disc originate from the '90s, and 11 of those are from the same show -- this is an adequate, well-recorded document of both the original and re-formed versions of Foghat running through their established repertoire. It also ...

| | Joan Of Arc Live In Chicago, 1999! CD (1999)
Classic Bites music CDs
$12.39 Say what you want about Tim Kinsella's voice, but his is an instrument capable of producing beautiful music both in and out of tune, sung or screamed. His lyrics are smarter and, at times, more sincere than most of the typical sentiments projected by American indie rock. It's clear the guy knows what he's doing, but too often on Joan Of Arc's new album Live In Chicago, 1999, one wishes Kinsella would just allow himself to rock out. Part of the charm of Joan Of Arc's excellent How Memory Works album was Kinsella's ...

$12.65 -The album concept was thought up back in 2004 while Reign was a student at Madison Media Institute. Reign actually recorded the "Reigny Day Intro" as a class project. Therese Genis and David Wheaton volunteered their voices to this orchestrally inspired piece-After a half-year recording gig in Atlanta, Reign returned to Madison,WI in mid- 2006 -The album commenced in April of 2007 with the recording of "Limelight." This track is straight hip-hop and all drums. Reign, Substance, Fluxx, and Camario all lent powerful performances and burned a hole through this joint-The remainder of the 21 tracks were a whirlwind of collaborations featuring 26 total recording artists-"Go Get 'Em" was inspired by the lifestyle that the Reigny Day Team can't seem to get away from. This was actually one of the first songs that Reign ever recorded with Camario and CousCous-"No Coincidence" was a collaboration done between AD of The Crest, Fluxx, & Camario. AD recorded the track at a separate studio and after some slick engineering/production work became one of the best tracks on the album. Fluxx wrote and performed this unique hook which compliments the drastic chorus change- Reign met Profound at a mutual friends birthday party and the two spoke of collaborating. The result of this meeting was "Broadband Love." Reign wrote the hook while CousCous added the sweet vocals. J Stills recorded and wrote the bridge/verse and it turned out to be one of the catchier tunes on the album-"Dome" is a funny track about receiving fellatio = head= "Dome." We surprisingly got a friend of ours to sing the hook. She's actually kind of embarrassed about that line she says in the song. If you can figure out who Q. is, give her shit for it! Big Ro, and Camario added their verbal expertise to this song-"Get Rich Anthem" is a joint that was actually produced partly by CousCous. She played a variation of Lux Aeterna from "Requiem For a Dream" and it got transformed into the "Get Rich Anthem." A variation of this song may appear on Romey's "Hard Rock White" album coming soon. Romey and B-Ezee of Get Rich Records laid their verses at Madison Media Institute and Reign mixed the song and added he and CousCous' vocals at Reigny Day Studios-"Brolick" is a compelling and beautiful sounding song with minimal drums and a sultry melody. Camario came up with the hook and dominates the majority of this track while Fluxx added the knockout ...
