Blackfoot: Rick Medlocke (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars); Charlie Hargrett (acoustic & electric guitars); Ken Hensley (slide guitar, keyboards, background vocals); Greg T. Walker (bass, background vocals); Jakson Spires (percussion, background vocals). Personnel: Rick Medlocke (vocals, guitar, acoustic guitar); Jakson "Thunderfoot" Spires (vocals, drums, percussion, background vocals); Mike Osborne (vocals); Charlie Hargrett (guitar, acoustic guitar); Ken Hensley (slide guitar, keyboards, background vocals); Greg T. Walker , La La (background vocals). Blackfoot was always the heaviest of the great Southern rock movement, and on Siogo(reputedly either a Native American word for "closeness" or a crude groupie acronym, probably the latter) the boys try to break into the metal market and regain their brief hold on American audiences. Staunch metallists will recognize the touch of producer Al Nalli (from Axe's similarly excellent Nemesis) and a new bit of European muscle from Uriah Heep's Ken Hensley on the keyboards. Although cliched throughout, powerful performances send openers "Send Me an Angel," "Run for Cover," and "Drivin' Fool" to lofty hard rock heights. "We're Goin' Down" nips the riff from "Double Vision," while "Goin' in Circles" and the micro-hit "Teenage Idol" thunder like late Rainbow. "Heart's Grown Cold" treats the Nazareth dirge like a lost classic, and virtually transforms it into one as a result (The next and basically last Blackfoot burner, Vertical Smiles, houses another Nazareth standard in "Morning Dew," as well as the lost Peter Cetera nugget "Livin' in the Limelight," but that's another album.). Siogo would be founding guitarist Charlie Hargrett's finale; he was disgruntled at the band's bandwagon-jumping; but the record remains a great blast of hard-working heaviness, which definitely deserves restoration on CD. ~ Whitney Z. Great hard edge sound, but sadly this effort would mark the end of the band because Rick Medlocke and AL Nalli forgot how they arrived at stardom and instead tried to morp into a MTV HAIR BAND !!! behind every great fallen from greatness rock band you will find a greedy producer in this case (Al Nalli ) with some blame also going to Mr Medlocke Submitted by a reviewer (LOS ANGELES CA) Was This Review Helpful? Blackfoot - Still Got It! Had been looking for this CD for quite awhile. Still as good as I remember in college. Sounds slicker than Strikes, Tomcattin', and Marauder, but still a top album. A band that deserves more credit than they get from music history. Submitted by a reviewer (Castle Gap, West Texas) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Blackfoot smokes Yes in my opinion this was the best Blackfoot album and that's saying something after "Strikes" and "Marauder". The addition of Ken Hensley from Uriah Heep fame was only to see this recording and the somewhat average "Vertical Smiles" opus with it's cover gathering more attention than the material. "Siogo" is nonstop great rock the way Blackfoot could do it...from the starting gate to the finish line. Eventually management and record label opinion began to differ from the direction Rick Medlocke wanted to take the band and sadly this particular line-up was short lived. Previously hard to get on cd, a nicely done and good quality sound re-issue done by Wounded Bird. Submitted by a reviewer (Dover, NH USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$10.49 Blackfoot was a southern-rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, lead by singer/guitarist Rick Medlocke. Between 1975 & 1985 they released numerous albums, three of which are now making their worldwide CD debuts on Wounded Bird Records. 'Highway Song - Live' was originally issued in 1982 as a German import only and has been an extremely hard to find collectors item ever since.

| | Tim Finn Imaginary Kingdom CD (2006)
Siogo
$20.95 Best known for his work with Split Enz, Crowded House and the Finn Brothers, Tim Finn's nearly 25-year solo career has been overshadowed by his band projects and, to a certain extent, by his brother Neil's international success. Imaginary Kingdom should change all of that. To say that this album is magical is an understatement! Imaginary Kingdom is an atmospheric and joyous collection of beautifully written songs that embrace the listener with warmth and emotional honesty. Piano moves back to centerstage again (it was, for the most part, sadly neglected on his two previous solo releases, Say It Is So and Feeding the Gods) and Finn's vocals are a wonder to behold. When his voice takes flight, as it often does on this release, it becomes an instrument of the angels. It's a stunning thing to experience. His songwriting is stronger and more focused than it's been in years, every song filled with thought-provoking lyrical images and spine-tingling chord changes. Imaginary Kingdom's main strength is how well the songs fit together as a whole. This is not an album to take apart piece by piece, looking for a hit. This is an album that should be heard as a single piece of art. That's not to say that there aren't any possible hits here, though. "Couldn't Be Done," the album's first single and lead track recalls other great Finn album openers like ...
