Yungstar grew up on the west side of Houston and began rapping at age ten. In the early '90s, he began working with DenDen, CEO of Straight Profit Records. He first gained attention freestyling over tapes made by DJ Screw and emerged nationally with a guest appearance on Lil' Troy's "Wanna Be a Baller." Straight Profit released his debut album, Throwed Yung Playa, and it sold 40,000 copies before being picked up and re-released in a revised form by Epic Records in 2000.
This is an example of the Southern Rap "screwed" mix style.

Sadanya is a very energetic young lady. She loves to share her energy, feelings, and experiences with others. Through the two things she loves most, singing and writing, she is able to do so. Singing and writing is her passion and her way of life. Sadanya was born and raised on Long Island, New York. She began singing and writing poetry at age eight. Her poetry later transformed into song writing. In 1994 Sadanya signed a record contract with Permanent Records for a song called, "No More Lines". Sadanya was responsible for writing the lyrics and arranging this song. She also sang all vocals on the record. When asked what it was like to be part of such a project, this is what Sadanya had to say: "It was an honor and a pleasure to work with such a great songwriter, producer, and singer as Glenn "Sweety G" Toby. He had just written a song for Sybil "You're the Love Of My Life", and signed such great musicians as Dwayne D Kerr, who is currently on tour with Erika Badu, to his label, Permanent Records. Everyone was so supportive, and David Knight, who had just engineered one of SWV's projects, worked so diligently to make sure I came out of the studio with the best sound I could possibly have.
