Takin' My Time album for sale by Bonnie Raitt was released Mar 05, 2002 on the Rhino (Label) label. Raitt looks directly to her influences on a version of the Martha and the Vandellas' R&B classic "You've Been In Love Too Long," which kicks off the album, then looks further back with an acoustic rendition of Mississippi Fred McDowell's "Write Me A Few of Your Lines/Kokomo Blues," proving her grasp of the genre. But the record's highlights encompass more contemporary fare, such as Jackson's Browne's "I Thought I Was A Child," Mose Allison's "Everybody's Cryin' Mercy," and Randy Newman's "Guilty," with a light calypso "Wah She Go Do" balancing out these more plaintive compositions. Some of her best early work
This album is among those during the time in Bonnie Raitt's career when she produced some of her best work. Ironically, it was among her least commercially successful (and thankfully, her least pop-sounding).

time enduring
when i first heard this album, 30 years ago, i was rocked and moved and hooked on Bonnie forever, there are no gaps in her catalog and Cry Like A Rainstorm, is simply one of the best songs she has ever done! If you are a newcomer to Bonnie you need to go back in time see where she really comes from, psst it is the heart!
