A collection of state-of-the-art romantic country from its foremost practitioners, spanning all known forms of romantic entanglements, while eschewing the grittier aspects of love such as drinking and cheating songs, FOREVER COUNTRY is an ideal sampler for those country aficionados weaned on the contemporary country radio format. It's pretty smooth sailing all the way, with the likes of Billy Ray Cyrus, Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, and Tracy Byrd for company.
The latter's "Holdin" Heaven" is a particular highlight and also typical of the set as a whole in its tone of slavish adoration, (not that there's anything wrong with that), while Tritt's "Can I Trust You With My Heart" is somewhat more realistic in its apprehension of a committed relationship. FOREVER COUNTRY is an impeccable overview of romantic contemporary country music.

Before he had attained the age of 20 he was gigging with black jazz bands throughout the Southwest, and eventually organized an ensemble deliberately patterned after Count Basie's orchestra.
