Powerslave CD (1984)
Killers CD music Iron Maiden issued its fifth release, POWERSLAVE, in 1984. It was a time in which the band had become a worldwide arena-headlining sensation. The album was also the first to not have been marked by a lineup change, helping Maiden produce another metal classic.
While most other metal bands of the era were still singing about partying, Maiden continued to tackle some serious, thought-provoking subject matter. The band addresses the threat of nuclear war on "2 Minutes to Midnight," World War II-era fighter pilots in the album-opening "Aces High," and the demise of an Egyptian king in the title track. But the true highlight is the long and winding 13-and-a-half-minute epic "Rime of the Ancient Mariner," a track that does a ...

Piece of Mind CD (1983) Top Seller
Killers buy CD music PIECE OF MIND is the release cemented Iron Maiden firmly in the 1980s, making it one of the decade's most successful and enduring metal bands. This album includes such standards as the soaring "Flight of Icarus" and the barnstorming war tale "The Trooper." While the band had dabbled with epics on previous albums, PIECE OF MIND was the first to feature several complex tunes, like the album-opening "Where Eagles Dare," the contemplative "Revelations," and the album-closing "To Tame a Land," the last of which was inspired by the sci-fi novel series DUNE, by Frank Herbert. Personnel changes on this album include ex-Trust/Pat Travers drummer Nicko McBrain who took over for Clive Burr, but that shakeup did not hamper the success ...

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son CD (1988) Top Seller
Killers album for sale ON SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON, the songs tell the tale of a young prophet who predicts the destruction of his village, and is ignored when he tries to warn the others. Eventually, the man goes mad and commits suicide. Employing synthesizers, Iron Maiden takes a two-fold risk: with the music and by doing a concept album. This formula might have spelled disaster for most bands, but not Iron Maiden. SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON turned out to be one of the band's strongest releases, debuting in the U.K. charts at Number One, and spawning four Top-10 singles ("Can I Play With Madness," "The Evil That Men Do," "The Prophecy," and "Infinite Dreams"). The band's popularity had reached ...

Somewhere in Time CD (1986)
Killers CD music Principally recorded at Compass Point Studios, Nassau, The Bahamas and Wisseloord Studios, Hilversum, The Netherlands.
Iron Maiden's 1986 SOMEWHERE IN TIME contains more than a few highlights, such as the ferocious album opener, "Caught Somewhere in Time," as well as softer singles "Wasted Years" and "Stranger in a Strange Land." And as with the band's preceding studio release, POWERSLAVE, another masterful composition closes the album, in this case the sprawling "Alexander the Great." Departing from the familiar sounds of stellar earlier releases like THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST and PIECE OF MIND, this album explores new musical territory with the addition of synthesizers, while maintaining its trademarks--galloping bass, heavy guitar riffs, and operatic vocals. Though there were some doubts initially, the addition of synthesizers didn't alienate the ...

Iron Maiden CD (1980) Top Seller
Killers buy CD music Just as punk was mutating into new wave and the '70s were coming to a close, Iron Maiden came onto the British music scene as part of a movement known as the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. Named for a medieval torture instrument, Iron Maiden was founded by bass player Steve Harris and released their self-titled debut in 1980. Roughly produced by Will Malone, the songs were influenced by the group's fascination with horror films ("Phantom Of The Opera") and the macabre ("Transylvania," "Prowler"). Driven by Harris' driving bass and Paul Di'Anno's raspy vocals, songs such as the moody "Remember Tomorrow" and the more aggressive "Charlotte The Harlot" also featured the melodic interplay of guitarists Dave Murray and Dennis Stratton. "Running Free" was the album's anthem and landed Maiden a slot on Top Of The Pops, where in their refusal to lip-synch, they became the first band to play live on the show since The Who's 1972 appearance.
