Original score composed by Klaus Badelt. Recorded at Air Lyndhurst and Abbey Road Studios, London, England. Personnel: Katy Stephan (vocals). Audio Mixer: Alan Meyerson. Recording information: Air Lyndhurst And Abbey Road Studios, London, England. Editor: Christopher S. Brooks. Arrangers: Tim Jones; Ramin Djawadi. Klaus Badelt's score for The Time Machine is a traditional affair, consisting of symphonic, string-driven pieces that are alternately brooding and anthemic. Most of the tracks, such as "Bleeker Street," "Godspeed," "Emma," and "I Don't Belong Here," are fairly bittersweet and even romantic-sounding, although "Time Travel" and "Morlocks Attack" do inject some tension into the proceedings. Ultimately, The Time Machine is a graceful score -- perhaps too graceful and restrained for the movie for which it was composed, but a competently crafted collection of film music nonetheless. ~ Heather Phares

A great soundtrack Klaus Badelt has produced a soundtrack more memorable than the film, soothing as Enya's Watermark, yet much more compelling!

Astounding score! Not one of Badelt's tracks fails to disappoint in this album, and he leaves nothing out. Each track is in the order in which it plays in the movie, treating the listener to a musical play-by-play of the movie itself. Alexander and Emma are introduced with lighthearted and gentle tracks. Time traveling emerges in triumphant riffs. The Morlocks appear in the pounding of muted drums and a fast-paced battle track. Their leader is accompanied by an eerie chorus. Badelt keeps the score varied and yet all connected for a wonderful, rich listening experience. Submitted by Aurora (FL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$9.35 ETHEREALITY, New York’s latest progressive power metal band, was born in the latter months of 2003. Initially a solo side project, the band came together officially in late 2005. By the time recording demo cuts for the first few tracks was underway, Rick had already met bass player Eden Lustig at a concert in New York City. They kept contact for a while, considering they shared much of the same musical ideas, before Rick asked him to jump on board full time, to which he agreed. It was not until a month or two later that Rick met his brother Leonardo, also at a Manhattan gig. Ironically, at first Rick was a bit annoyed with him, because of his forward way of introducing himself. But that quickly faded as they saw eye to eye on many different topics of discussion, including their love for bands like Sonata Arctica and Kamelot. It was not until later on into the night that Rick discovered he was a keyboardist. After hearing a track that Leonardo had recorded, he immediately asked him to join, as a keyboardist of Leonardo’s magnitude was very rare. And so the Renaissance mini-LP went into the making. About two months later Rick received a phone call from a drummer he had auditioned for a previous band more than half a year prior, but had never heard from since. He went by the name of TJ “Animal” Brussich. What luck! Brussich ...
