If it weren't for the music...
Silent Running film .... I'd give it 5 stars. I love this flick, but the sound of Joan Baez's voice makes me almost want to go on a killing spree.

YEARS BEFORE STAR WARS;
Douglas Trumbull and Bruce Dern got together and made an SF cult classic which introduced 3 droids; Huey, Dewey and Louie in the early 70s, paving the way for R2 D2 and C3PO.

It's a classic!
Silent Running review I remember seeing this movie as a kid. It was my first time seeing Bruce Dern in a movie. When he says "pitiful... just pitiful" to one of his droids, it's just classic! I'm not a science-fiction fan, but what a movie! I'm getting it for my mom for Christmas, because she's always loved it, too!

Excellent Sci-Fi for its time....
The plant life on earth is failing so a small fleet of agriculture vessels are sent into space to keep the plants alive until earth can be repaired or a suitable planet can be found.
