Additional Footage; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; Director's Comments This "big country" romance involves an emotionally stilted Manhattan artist named Henry (Ayre Gross) who returns to his Montana hometown of Big Eden when his grandfather takes ill. Drama instantly arises as Henry learns the boyhood best friend (Tim DeKay) on whom he's fostered a twenty-year-long unrequited crush, has also returned to Big Eden and is anxious to resume their friendship. Henry also comes into contact with Dexter (Eric Schweig), the Native American proprietor of a local general store. Quiet and withdrawn, Dexter finds himself attracted to Henry but expresses his interest solely through a progressively more elaborate series of home-cooked meals. It is interesting that though they are surrounded with love and support by the liberal locals, these gay men are still blocked from romantic fulfillment by their own doubts and fears. The supporting cast includes residents of Montana's Glacier Park region where the film was shot, and Academy Award winner Louise Fletcher (ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST). A soundtrack of nouveau country music helps keeps things moving, and the color-saturated photography brings life to both the stunning outdoor vistas and the impeccably rustic interior décor. BIG EDEN is the feature debut of director/writer Thomas Bezucha. Big Eden Reviews: "...A pleasant trip....It's naturalistic in form and content..."
-- Bridget Byrne, Box Office "...BIG EDEN may be less a dream of finding perfect romance than a simpler, but somehow more touching, fantasy of simply being accepted..."-- Dave Kehr, New York Times "...An accomplished heart-tugger, a serious romantic comedy that tackles two dilemmas with honesty and compassion..."

Now this is a love story! I really enjoyed Big Eden. My friend just watched it and this is what he had to say, "I liked it, because it showed a gay world not tied to clubs and lust, but about true love and help from others to get there."

A "feel good" movie. This movie is a lot of fun. Big Eden is definitely a fantasy town. Not even in a big city is everyone that open and supportive, but we can all dream. Submitted by a reviewer (Fort Worth, Texas) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$10.05 This contemporary romantic comedy perfectly captures the fears, foibles, and confusion facing modern twentysomethings looking for love. Eli (Dan Bucantinsky) and Tom (Richard Ruccolo) are complete opposites, set up by their two straight best friends, Jackie (Sasha Alexander) and Brett (Adam Goldberg). Opposites attract in this charming romantic tale, but not without a very bumpy ride. Eli and his sister (Christina Ricci) are the products of therapist parents who over-express, over-analyze and idealize love. Opposite from Eli, Tom is a detached, promiscuous alcoholic unable to express the slightest emotion. The two share a night of physical attraction but after constant bickering they quickly conclude that they cannot have a meaningful relationship. Despite a few chance encounters, the seemingly polar opposites quickly fall back into their single routines: Eli hits therapy and Tom hits the bars. Meanwhile, a blooming relationship and subsequent engagement between Jackie and Brett forces the estranged Eli and Tom to face one another. ALL OVER THE GUY is a charming romantic comedy packed with witty dialogue from costar and screenwriter Bucantinsky, and featuring a star-studded supporting cast that includes Lisa Kudrow, Christina Ricci, Joanna Kerns, and Andrea Martin.

$7.09 After he's outed at his Midwestern precinct, gay cop John (Jonathan Wade Drahos) heads to Los Angeles to stay with his cousin Tad (Daniel Kucan), a documentary filmmaker chronicling the local gay scene. Naïve and closeted for a little too long, John only needs one little sniff and he's totally sucked into the world of "circuit" parties, drug-fueled gay raves full of steamy sex, thumping disco, steroid-amped bodies, and soap opera-style interpersonal drama. Soon his life is spiraling out of control and it's time to learn some valuable lessons.
Ex-Playgirl centerfold Dirk Shafer directs CIRCUIT from a script he wrote with producer Gregory Hinton. There's lots of drug use, vanity, angst, groping, and softcore sex (bed sheets and shadows mask total full frontal nudity). Kiersten Warren adds some estrogen and humor as John's college pal who has also come to L.A. to pursue her career as a stand-up comic. Jim J. Bullock (TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT) appears as a drag queen, William Katz and Nancy Allen are married party promoters caught up in a scam involving AIDS and life insurance. Many of the scenes were filmed at actual circuit parties (including the notorious "White Party"), with the attendees acting as extras.
From Director Dirk Schafer, whose "Man of the Year" pulled women's magazine centerfolds out of the closet, comes this sultry hyper-kinetic drama set in the sex-and-pecs, music and steroid world of the circuit party scene-where drugs flow and inhibitions fall on the sweaty dance floor. John is a closeted small-town cop who moves to L.A., where he is quickly seduced into a new lifestyle. As John falls deeper and deeper into a spiral of drugs and carousing, his one chance for redemption lies in the arms of his new boyfriend.
