Blending the shimmering dream pop of bands like the Cranes with the harsh thrashing of Drain STH, Tapping the Vein is one of the bands who moves along without a specific genre or label. The band hinges on the gorgeous vocals of singer Heather Thompson, who fits perfectly with both styles. Her voice cuts through the music like a knife, expressing both rage and beauty with her strained screams and delicate coos. Mark Burkert's excellent guitar work also stands out here; his intense playing hints at hundreds of notes while only playing a sparse combination of strings. This is the first album from these four musicians, and like any young band they have a few bad songs. But the good songs are very good, hinting at the possibility that they could really make some great music after this album. As for their debut, it is a hit-and-miss proposition that results in some spotty moments in an otherwise fine album. ~ Bradley Torreano

Tapping The Vein Damage Songs Damage Music Review Average Rating: (4.1 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews A Rare Find!! wow a cd you can listen to every song all the way through, that's a rare find especially from a band this talented, beats that damn Evanesence crap any day, that's why underground bands are so much better than mainstream, these guys don't have to have hit singles or music videos on Trl. They are 10 times better than this, its just a shame they broke up.But i went to their website and it said they started recording in August but i don't know if they replaced their bassist who left in 2003.Who knows, just have to wait and see,the songs on this album might be simple but who cares, because they put their all into each song on the album. saw them live... was quite amazing. they opened for lacuna coil on time in cleveleand and i recommend this cd for anyone who is a fan of female vocal goth rock. heather's vocal range is beyond any other band's lead singer i have ever heard. i met mark, the guitarist, after the show, he is cool as hell and really down to earth. i bought their cd that day at the end of their set. you will not be disappointed. Damage CD music
$10.19 The Atomic Bitchwax of the past usually unspooled in a thick and hoary stoner rock/jam band format, and occasionally featured vocals. That was fine. It was great actually, since the trio was so adept at constructing bottom-feeding grooves. But three years after Spit Blood, the band has returned with shifts in both lineup and focus. III is still stoner rock, and it doesn't experiment very much with that formula. But the replacement of the departed Ed Mundell with ex-Core guitarist/vocalist Finn Ryan (Chris Kosnik (bassist/vocalist), and Keith Ackerman (drums) remain) brings a different feel to the guitar work, and the reconfigured Bitchwax trio also includes vocals on almost every track. The lyrics aren't anything special -- life's too short, one night stands, the boiling California sun, getting older, that sort of thing -- but Kosnik and Ryan are quite capable, and their vocals give the songs needed structure. "Maybe I'm a Leo" and "You Can't Win" lock into an economic but very powerful ...

The new album contains 2 contrasting sides of Francesco's musical vision and is quite different from Francesco's previous release 'Forbidden Dimension' (LMC147) in his playing, ideas and approach to music in general.'Secrets Within' is divided into two movements, one heavy and one acoustic to better show all of Francesco's ideas, feelings and the way he considers music. Francesco simply comments, 'I believe this album to be the best material I've ever released and the one that best represents me. This album is really introspective and very important for me, it was inspired ...
