The greatest hits of this multi-talented Puerto Rican singer/actor, who, in the grand tradition of many of his fellow Latin superstars is also a well-known soap opera actor, cover many styles from urban funk through pop disco to heartfelt ballads. With his heartthrob good looks, Chayanne is obviously a candidate to follow in the steps of Enrique Iglesias, and with a back catalog such as this it's hard to see how he could fail. From the slinky "Y Tu Te Vas" to the upbeat dance rhythms of "Torero" and the salsa-inflected "Salome," Chayanne doesn't let up for a minute in his multi-faceted pop approach, even taking a stab at rock in "Fiesta En America." But he's understandably most at home with songs such as the upbeat, Latin-based "Tu Pirata Soy Yo" and the waltz-time orchestral romance of "Provocame," which display his sensitive vocals and musical range to good advantage.

This was a gift for my mother and she absolutely loves it. She plays it all the time as well as the other Chayanne CD I gave her. She is enjoying her 65th year with a lot of rhythm.

Chayanne has been my favorite singer for about eight years. If I were stranded on a desert island and I could only have one CD to listen to...it would probably be this one. "Grandes Exitos" or Greatest Hits sums it up well. The 14 songs on this CD are among his BEST ! I live for ballads and this CD has several great love songs, including "Y Tú Te Vas", "Quisiera Ser", "Completamente Enamorados", "Tiempo De Vals", "Dejaría Todo", and "Tal Vez Es Amor". If I am in the mood to jump rope, he has some fast songs that get me moving:"Torero", "Salomé", "Este Ritmo Se Baila Así", and "Baila Baila". Chayanne's music has been a vital part of my life for several years. This "Grandes Exitos" CD is like a diary of part of my life. I also have his DVD of the same name. It has some different songs than the CD, but it still has 13 great videos from Chayanne, including "Fuiste Un Trozo De Hielo En La Escarcha", "Volver A Nacer", and "Atado A Tu Amor".
