It's hard to call The Globe Sessions a stumble, but its stripped-down, straightforwardness paled in comparison to the dark pop-culture kaleidoscope of Sheryl Crow's eponymous second album. That's why C'mon, C'mon, Crow's long-delayed fourth album, is such a delight -- it's the sunny flip side of that masterpiece, a skillful synthesis of classic rock and modern sensibilities that's pretty irresistible. Crow has turned into the professional she always acted she was -- she not only crafts songs impeccably, she knows how to record them, filling the record with interesting sonic details, whether it's the Steve Miller-styled "woo hoo"s on "Steve McQueen" or subtle Mellotrons on "Over You." That kind of sly sonic adventure was mRolling Stone (4/25/02, p.78) - 3 stars out of 5 - "...Heavy on billowy ballads and rife with lazy lyrics...she invites a studioful of illustrious classic rockers and alternative types to add social richness to [the] album..."
Spin (May 2002, pp.118-119) - 7 out of 10 - "...Crow's the great equalizer-- finding the middle of a wide variety of roads is the essence of her art....[imagine] a world where the Dixie Chicks and Stevie Nicks and Emmylou Harris and Dr. Dre's bass player can all ride the same tour bus..."
Entertainment Weekly (4/19/02, pp.70-71) - "...[Crow] is a supreme craftsperson....C'MON C'MON is rooted in old-school Cali pop but somehow manages never to sound fusty or musty..." - Rating: B+
Q (4/02, p.111) - 3 out of 5 stars - "...Crow still rocks....A real pro...[with] no sign of a midlife crisis..."
Mojo (Publisher) (5/02, p.98) - "...Crow locates her inner Skynyrd..."

3 stars Different
Different than her previous CDs. A little more "sing along" than other CDs. I personally preferred her previous CDs more which I think had a better rock background in their presentations.

5 stars Her Best Yet
Since 'Tuesday Night Music Club' Sheryl Crow has just gotten better and better. "C'mon, C'mon" is definitely her best albumn to date. "Steve McQueen" is a great opening track that kicks the album into gear. "Soak Up The Sun" changes gears a bit with its lighter, almost Beach Boys like theme. The songs that Sheryl does with Don Henley and Lenny Kravitz are very good and Sheryl's incredible talent as a singer/songwriter shine throughout the entire album.

2 stars Good songs, shame about the production.
Yet another album ruined by record executives trying to make HOT CD's. Most of the album is heavily compressed and even distorted! (YUK)! While the distortion may be less audible on cheep mini-systems, the use of so much compression by the mastering engineer leads to a boring / irritating / wall-of-noise. It's no supprise that other reviewers said "Boring and too comercial",and "this is one of the WORST albums i've EVER heard." Stick to the 1996 self-titled album (mastered by Bob Ludwig) as this is much more enjoyable (Unless you like the Oasis in-your-face sound)!

Big dissappointment compare to 'Globe Sessions' - Sheryl Crow the best one. Sweet silly songs without the great taste of her former achivements. Boring and too comercial music background. Sheryl, take back Jack Rubin and everything will be amazing again.
