Barbara Bach, Dennis Quaid, Ringo Starr, Shelley Long - Director: Carl Gottlieb In this spoof of prehistoric times, a bunch of misfit cavemen who have been ousted from their various tribes band together and form their own. The gang embarks on various misadventures and in the process learns about walking upright, using tools, creating fire -- and the true meaning of friendship. A comedy set in prehistoric times about a group of outcasts who form a tribe called the "Misfits." The film makes innovative use of pantomime, since the actors do not speak English, but instead speak a primitive language developed for the film. Color by Technicolor. This movie is on " ROCKA" (fire) As a chid, one remembers key moments in time. No subtitles necessary! Terrific comedy, very well done by all. Several scenes I recognize from newer films, so photography is excellent! Very little English spoken (it's all 'caveman' words), but easy to understand, and of course, a great tune! Submitted by Silver (Costa Rica) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$12.85 Based on the journals of Brother Gaspar de Carvajal, AGUIRRE, THE WRATH OF GOD is director Werner Herzog's hallucinatory tale of Spanish colonialists searching for El Dorado, the legendary city of gold, in 16th-century Peru. When the travellers reach an impasse, a scouting party is assembled to search for any traces of the mythical empire. As they attempt to forge their way through the dense jungle, more and more of the party falls ill while their ruthless leader, Don Lope de Aguirre (Klaus Kinski), grows increasingly insane.
Widely considered to be Herzog's finest film, AGUIRRE, which shares much in common with Francis Ford Coppola's APOCALYPSE NOW, highlights the director's visionary approach to filmmaking. Like ...
| | Castle Of Cagliostro DVD (1979) Widescreen
Caveman film
$10.55 The feature film debut of Hayao Miyazaki (NAUSICAÄ OF THE VALLEY OF THE WIND, PRINCESS MONONOKE), THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO depicts one adventure of the master thief Lupin and his rough-around-the-edges gunman, Jigen. Something of a cross between Batman, James Bond, and Cary Grant's character in TO CATCH A THIEF, Lupin is a suave ladies' man who is also given to feats of athletic daring, aided by a gadget filled belt that gets him out of more than a few scrapes. The plot has Lupin and Jigen traveling to the sleepy little country of Cagliostro and coming to the aid of the unwilling fiance of the diabolical Count Cagliostro. After CAGLIOSTRO, Miyazaki stopped creating "slapstick" feature films in favor of more serious fare; CAGLIOSTRO shows, however, that he is quite capable of delivering the goods in this genre. Based on the Lupin comics by the artist Monkey Punch, CAGLIOSTRO is a great heist/chase film that surpasses most similar live action fare and breezes by with more than a couple of inventive set pieces, as well as some excellent ...

| | Memory Of The Camps DVD (1945)
Caveman review
$22.15 In 1945, at the end of World War II, victorious Allied forces marched into central and eastern Europe and made the gruesome discovery of the Nazi concentration camps. Accompanied by camera crews, British and American soldiers captured the full horror of the barbed wire fences, gas chambers, crematoriums, mass graves, and starving survivors in documentary footage that served as a visceral piece of on-the-spot reportage. Unfortunately, the film stock languished in the vaults ...
