"Westway to the World" is the only full, unexpurgated story of one of Rock music's legendary acts. The Clash were the band who made Punk real, they were the last great British Rock'n Roll band, they were the coolest, the most political, the most eclectic and most thrilling of the Punk bands. Blasting away from the parochial concerns of the London Punk scene of the late 1970's, the Clash explored and expanded musical boundaries like no act before, or since. For seven years they set the agenda for future generations of Rock bands. In 1981 the Clash played in front of a screaming, adoring full house at Shea Stadium as their fifth album stood in the Top 5 of the U.S. charts. WESTWAY TO THE WORLD features the legendary punk rock group, The Clash, in a series of revealing interviews (many exclusive to this release) intertwined with hefty doses of previously unseen live footage, encompassing the influential band's career in its entirety. This director's cut DVD also features the previously unseen in the US feature, THE CLASH ON BROADWAY, filmed in 1982 during the band's seventeen back-to-back shows in New York City.
THE CLASH: WESTWAY TO THE WORLD won director Don Letts and The Clash a Grammy for Best Long Form Music Video at the 45th Annual Grammy Awards held in February 2003. Clash: Westway To The World Reviews: "Unseen footage lends the narrative a mesmerising dimension."

Clash: Westway To The World Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Best Rockumentary... As a devoted Clash fan, this is as complete as it gets. Very informational. It gets deep toward the end as Joe, Mick and Topper talk about their regrets. Not to give too much away, but it is clear that when it came down to it, these guys were a tight brotherhood. This is a solid document and captures the essence of The Clash. Submitted by yo-harris (South Bend, IN, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
The Truth About The Clash I have never been more floored by a band telling their own story than this! I own "The Filth and the Fury" DVD (Sex Pistols) and am eagerly awaiting the relase of the "End Of The Century" DVD (Ramones; which I went to the Tribeca Film Festival to see), but this one is the undisputed champion. This is the true story, folks, from the horse's mouth. Hearing the sincerity and humor of the band makes this so real. You can fully understand their passion and really see why they were what they were. I must watch this once a month (at least) with no stop in sight! The Clash are truly one of the most underrated rock bands of all time. No one had the fire like them then, and no one does now. Long live the spirit of The Clash! Rest In Peace, Joe Strummer (1952-2002) Submitted by a reviewer (Lakewood, NJ) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.

| | Walker Brothers Ultimate Collection CD (2008) (Import)
Clash: Westway To The World movie DVD
$13.39 This two-CD compilation, assembled from the Walker Brothers' three albums and various singles released by Philips between 1965 and 1967, gives a good overview of their U.K. history without limiting itself to their hits. The sound quality is good if not exceptional -- one gets the sense that another round of remastering would be in order (and while we're talking about sound, wouldn't one like to see a Mobile Fidelity reissue on the Walker Brothers or, for that matter, Scott Walker's best solo stuff?). And the track order isn't chronological -- their two best-known songs, which were not their first two U.K. singles -- occupy the opening two slots on disc one. So this set is lacking in some attributes that one would, ideally, like to se. On the other hand, all of the songs that one would like to see are here somewhere, and the annotation is thorough if not extensive. ...

Clash: Westway To The World video
$17.49 Christmas and the blues might seem at first like a strange combination, given that the music of the holiday season is usually joyful, hopeful, and bright, but no other time of the year is so good at showing you what you don't have, and what you can't get, and if you have the blues at Christmas, well, it's going to be a pretty heavy dose. This generous two-disc set from Document Records features 52 tracks of vintage African-American Christmas-themed blues and gospel pieces (with a couple of street sermons thrown in) recorded between 1925 and 1955, ranging from down-and-out laments and jailhouse moans to surprising (and occasionally ...
