Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles A hilariously stoic top-secret federal agent (Tommy Lee Jones) and his wisecracking partner (Will Smith) don their matching Ray-Bans and skinny black ties and proceed to use all their considerable weaponry and wit to save the world from an undocumented and extremely unfriendly mantislike alien. MEN IN BLACK is a successful, tongue-in-cheek spoof of summer blockbuster alien invasion flicks, based on the comic book by Lowell Cunningham. In the 1950s a super-secret government agency was formed to monitor and police the activities of extraterrestrial aliens on the planet Earth. Some 40 years later a founding father of the agency, Agent Kay (Tommy Lee Jones), finds himself with a new smart-mouthed partner fresh from the NYPD who is soon dubbed Agent Jay (Will Smith). Their first mission is to save the Earth from destruction by a giant insectlike alien (Vincent D'Onfrio) that, incidentally, drives an exterminator's truck. Armed with their matching Ray-Bans, skinny ties, and space-age weapons that Jay barely understands--he calls the Neuralyzer the "flashy thing"--the new duo begin another average day of fighting intergalactic terrorists. An amazingly hip and terribly clever movie that riffs on everything from E.T.--THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL to CASABLANCA, this Barry Sonnenfeld film is based on the equally savvy comic book by Lowell Cunningham. Filmed in New York City and in studio (Culver City, CA).
Estimated budget: $90 million.
The film grossed more than $250 million at the domestic box office and nearly $600 million worldwide. Men In Black Reviews: "...The out-there premise is irresistible.... Effects master Rick Baker whips up a swell array of oddball creatures great, small and just plain strange..." -- 4 out of 4 stars
-- Susan Wloszczyna, USA Today "...Dryly clever....Extraordinarily ambitious, with all-star design and special-effects talent and a genuinely artful visual style..."
-- Janet Maslin, New York Times "...Wised-up and offhandedly funny....Barry Sonnenfeld is an excellent director for this point of view, and MEN IN BLACK is a blend of the strengths of his previous films..."
-- Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times "...The movie makes good use of a lot of New York landmarks....[The film] deflates one sci-fi pomposity after another..."

$31.29 Director Michael Bay (ARMAGEDDON, THE ROCK) uses a tragic romantic triangle to set the stage for the infamous Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in this epic tale of love, loss, and patriotism. When Evelyn (Kate Beckinsale), a beautiful Navy nurse, meets dashing ace Army fighter pilot Rafe (Ben Affleck), the two fall madly in love, only to be separated abruptly when he is called upon to help fight the war in Europe. Unforeseen circumstances lead Evelyn into the arms of Danny (Josh Hartnett), another fighter pilot and Rafe's best friend since childhood. In the meantime, the Japanese military is planning the surprise early morning raid on Hawaii that will pull the United States into World War II. Spectacular special effects vividly recreate the attack in devastating detail as bombs explode, torpedoes shoot through the water, and bullets fly, shaking tranquil Pearl Harbor to its core. Bay deftly captures the patriotism and ...

In this television movie, Springfield stars as detective Nick Knight, a brooding loner who works the night shift and lives with a horrible secret: he's really a vampire. When Nick is assigned to a particularly gruesome murder, he finds himself saddled with a new partner and digging deeper into a case that pits him against both his immortal nemesis and a psychotic killer. $17.89 Shy Kenji is a Japanese librarian in Bangkok who lives within a neatly organized world and fantasizes about committing suicide, but gets interrupted every time he attempts to end his life. While at work, he becomes obsessed with a beautiful girl he spots through the bookshelves. Later, while attempting to jump off a bridge, he watches her die when she is hit by a car. Kenji attempts to comfort the girl's sister, Noi, but eventually returns home, where he is visited by his loutish brother and a Yakuza-linked associate. A scuffle between these visitors results in their deaths. Scared and confused, Kenji retreats to Noi's messy home, which he systematically cleans while they get to know each other and help each other through painful issues in their lives.
Tragic and blackly comic with elements of gangster cinema and toilet humor, LAST LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE is a touching work that refuses easy categorization. Pen-ek Ratanaruang's film boldly takes its time to unfold, allowing viewers to savor Christopher Doyles's (IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE) lush visuals. With Kenji, Asano Tadanobu has created a protagonist who says more with his silences than most characters do with dialogue. Japanese film fans will also enjoy director Takashi Miike's raucous cameo as a Yakuza boss.
Kenji is a mysterious librarian who has hidden himself away from society and seems bent ...

Men In Black review
$7.89 An all-star cast energizes Robert Aldrich's classic World War II action drama about a group of 12 American military prisoners assembled by tacticians and ordered to perform a suicide mission: infiltrate a well-guarded château and kill the Nazi officials vacationing there. The incarcerated soldiers, most of whom are facing death sentences for a variety of violent crimes, jump at the chance to redeem themselves. Major Reisman (Lee Marvin), the noncriminal in charge of the group, whips the men into a crack unit, uses them to best the troops of his by-the-book superior officer, Colonel Breed (Robert Ryan), in war games, then leads the steely antiheroes on their perilous assault.
The film is studded with standout performances, including Telly Savalas as a religious psychopath with a febrile animosity toward Germans and John Cassavetes in an Oscar-nominated portrayal as an insubordinate, poison-tongued hothead. Ernest Borgnine, Donald Sutherland, Charles ...

Men In Black DVD
$22.15 Harold Lloyd was an early comedic actor loved by audiences and highly respected within the moviemaking industry. Not a natural comic, but a great actor playing comedic parts, Lloyd developed a highly physical style, incorporating the element of fear into many of his scenes to heighten their impact. Before the days of special effects, he made use of perspective and camera tricks in highly innovative ways in order to create the illusion of danger. Many times more prolific than Buster Keaton or Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd was the highest-paid actor in Hollywood for a time, and helped foster the emerging form of the feature film with such classics as GRANDMA'S BOY and THE SHY GIRL. Volume 2 of the HAROLD LLOYD COLLECTION includes some of the actor's most-loved shorts, such as HIGH AND DIZZY, THE CITY SLICKER, and TWO GUN GUSSIE, as well as the longer films, NOW OR NEVER and AMONG THOSE PRESENT. Representative of the genius of this often-overlooked ...
