Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Second Season Video Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The Complete Second Season Movie Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Season 2 is a must have I am a big Buffy fan, and season 2 is one of the best seasons. Not only was the writing still very fresh, the ground work is laid for everything that comes to pass later in the series. The menu graphics are cool and the extra with commentary by Joss Whedon is excellent. If you are a fan I know will order this anyway, but if you are new to the Bufy-verse and toyed around with season 1, do yourself a favor and get his one too. How can you go wrong with Joss? The quality of this Second Season DVD is great. It has extra interviews and commentaries that are great. One problem that I did have with some of the commentaries was that they obviously hadn't watched the episode in a long time and had some information mixed up for the story. Also, they spoke alot about the season that they were working on at the time(Season 5)which at times could spoil a newbie.
But, being the BTVS fan that I am. I'd buy it again without any of the extras.

Keeping Buffy Angel finally gets a backstory and stops being the unconvincing lurker of the first series. This means Spike and Drusilla are the season's big bad, which also injects life into the whole season. When Angel has his 'moment of pure happiness' and goes all Angelus on Buffy and the Scoobies, the show starts to hit the operatic heights it has managed to sustain ever since. The season ender will leave you in tears.
Superb writing, terrific direction and an ever improving cast make this a must-buy. Submitted by richpmatt (London UK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Fan Forever Excellent package design! Great commentary on episodes. The special featurettes on disc six are a must for die hard fans. I can't wait for Season 3! Submitted by a reviewer (Long Island) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I Only Have Eyes For Angel I'd almost forgotten how many great episdoes were in this season. And not just eps that are about the Buffy/Angel saga (although those are great too). I also own the first season and it is amazing to see how much better the season two eps are. The season two eps are ones that I could watch over and over again. I can hardly wait for season three! In the meantime, I will just bask in the eps where Buffy and Angel are locking lips and cry at the eps where Angel is evil. (I get so teary at the end of Becoming II) A must-have for anyone who loves Buffy. If you haven't seen Buffy, reruns of the earlier seasons are on the cable channel FX.
