After much success with previous efforts, Unconsciously Confined finds Satanic Surfers' lead singer, Rodrigo, out from behind the drums and handling all the singing duties exclusively. His strong, smooth voice, as well as Satanic Surfers' ability to be a part of the successful marketing movement known as pop-punk, will surely carry the band on to more success. Not without their lack of insightful lyrics, the five-piece speaks out on racism, the evils of capitalism, and the merits of socialism. Evidently, they're one of the most popular punk bands in Europe. Nevertheless, musically, Unconsciously Confined is rather drab and mediocre. While the occasional hook may jump out and grab the listener, the redundancy is a real killer. The album is so short (13 songs in 25 minutes) that it ends up leaving the listener without a chance to get a proper grasp before the whole monotonous ride is over. Surely fans of Fat Wreck Chords, Epitaph Records, Hopeless Records, and their ilk will enjoy this, but the next renaissance punk album this is not. ~ Kurt Morris

This CD is a great source to practice montunos and solos based on typical salsa chord progressions. The tracks were recorded at Bettrmusik studios featuring Joe Santiago on Bass and Frank “Jr.†Medina on percussion. Using a real rhythm section gives you a more accurate idea of what the rhythm section should feel like. Many times piano solos have to be reduced to 1-2 min performances, but with this CD you can practice at you own leisure without burning out anyone in the band. It is also great to practice montunos and its different variations. There are 3-2 examples also 2-3 at 200 bpm (Typical salsa song tempo) and also examples at a slower speed (164 bpm).Julio Jauregui was born in Baton Rouge, LA. He grew up in Mexico City. Julio studied music at the University of Oregon. He now performs and writes music arrangements. Julio’s arrangements have reached far places like Germany, Norway, New York, Florida, Texas, Chicago.
