Purchase Blam! CD To buy, Click on price to add to cart | Jeff Healey Mess Of Blues CD (2008)
Blam! album
$13.25 Mess of Blues contains ten cuts, all of them chosen by Healey from what he considered "audience favorites," rather than his own or his fine band's preferred tunes. Four of these were recorded in front of audiences at the Islington Academy in London and, appropriately enough, at Healey's Roadhouse (his club) in Toronto. The other six were cut at Studio 92 in Canada by Norm Barker and Richard Uglow. ...

| | Howlin Wolf His Best CD (1997)
Blam! songs
$15.15 Recorded between 1951 & 1964. Includes liner notes by Mark Humphrey.
Since even Howlin' Wolf's worst recordings are compelling in some regard, it should go without saying that HIS BEST, a collection of his finest Chess sides, is magnificent from beginning to end. Possessed of fine guitar and harp skills, a voice that could separate skin from bone, and a sheer magnetism and charisma that knew (and has known) no equal, Howlin Wolf is one of 20th century music's greatest performers.
Every track here is stellar, and a few like "Evil," "Smokestack Lightnin'," "Back Door Man" and "Spoonful," will have listeners wearing out the repeat button on their disc players. Wolf's ferocious delivery ...

This is a Super Audio CD playable only on Super Audio CD players.
A LOVE SUPREME is the essential example of the genius of John Coltrane. In what has become the apotheosis of jazz music, this eminently accessible work bridges the gap between music and spirituality, between art and life. With the ultimate incarnation ...

| | Going Down: The Songs Of Don Nix CD (2002)
Blam! album
$13.55 The legendary R&B songwriter who penned at least one undeniable classic in this album's title track returns from nearly a decade-long retirement, calls in some notable friends, and re-records a handful of his better songs under the watchful eye of producer Jon Tiven (Wilson Pickett, tribute albums to Otis Blackwell and Curtis Mayfield). His voice is an acquired taste, and the majority of these tunes are performed as standard swamp rock fare, yet this is a decent career recap from the 60-something musician/producer/songwriter. Although Leon Russell (who gave Don Nix his biggest break by hiring him to produce and write songs for Freddie King) is conspicuously M.I.A., old Mar-Keys bandmate Steve Cropper is aboard, as are friends Dan Penn, Bonnie Bramlett, John Mayall, Tony Joe White, and Bobby Whitlock. Queen's Brian May even guests (overdubbed) on a track, as does Mountain man Leslie West. For better or worse, ...

| | Il Divo Ancora CD (2005)
Blam! music CDs
$20.95 Knowing how to strike while the iron is hot, the international all-male pop-opera revue Il Divo, assembled by AMERICAN IDOL's Simon Cowell, followed up its 2005 debut (and subsequent Christmas album) with yet another outing in early 2006. Here the dashing vocal quartet--Urs Buhler (Switzerland), Sebastien Izambard (France), Carlos Marin (Spain), and David Miller (U.S.)--stays true to its multi-lingual repertoire, offering up a suitably dramatic Spanish version of Eric Carmen's "All By Myself" ("Solo Otra Vez") and an English/French rendition of "I Believe in You" (with Celine Dion), among other numbers. While the arrangements on ANCORA are lush and majestic, they never overshadow the full, passionate voices of the foursome, who have clearly become used to working together as a powerful group.
Unbearably handsome opera-pop quartet Il ...
