MACARTHUR PARK goes beyond the famous hit title track to explore the recorded work of stage and screen actor Richard Harris, including his versions of "Paper Chase" and "Name Of My Sorrow."
This CD reissue from England is almost (but not quite) identical to Raven Records' Richard Harris: The Webb Sessions 1968-69 from Australia, combining the contents of the albums A Tramp Shining and The Yard Went on Forever. The difference is the absence of the last Richard Harris-Jimmy Webb collaboration, "One of the Nicer Things," which appeared as a free-standing single in 1969. Alan Hodgson's annotation is slightly less informative than the notes by Jimmy Webb on the Raven CD. On the other hand, this disc is also about $3-$5 cheaper, so budget-minded fans may appreciate it. As for the sound, it is superior to any of the LP versions of A Tramp Shining, with Webb's reliance on stereo separation for important timbral effects coming through bright and sharp throughout -- a small, ...

ADRYAN RUSS conceived the idea and wrote music and lyrics for INSIDE OUT, the award-winning off-Broadway musical, co-written with playwright/lyricist Doug Haverty; produced by Richard Frankel, Marc Routh and Randy Kelly at The Cherry Lane Theatre. The musical has been published by Samuel French, and the NY cast CD, "Inside Out," distributed by DRG Records. Her work has been featured at Group Repertory Theatre, The Colony Theatre, and the West Valley Playhouse in the Los Angeles area; Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota; the Phoenix Theatre in Arizona; 12 Miles West in Montclair, New Jersey; the Wealthy Theatre in Michigan, among others. INSIDE OUT is scheduled for an Allegro Productions run at the Here Arts Center in Soho, opening October 10, 2003.Last year, Adryan participated in a tribute to Charles Strouse, with Michael Feinstein, at Carnegie Hall and in Chicago's "ASCAP Cabaret: Her Turn" with Karen Mason, Sharon McNight, Babbie Green, Christine Lavin, Lindy Robbins, Patty Morabito, Dan Stetzl, Beckie Menzie and an array of Chicago cabaret performers, hosted by Jason Graae.
